How An Ambitious Kid From Italy Became A Leading Figure In The Hospitality Industry

Luca Missaglia was a hyperactive kid. He was always moving around, biking with his friends all around his neighborhood in Italy growing up, and was a tough kid to keep down. Fast forward to today, and nothing has changed. Missaglia travels as an influencer and educator in the hospitality industry, and has had stints where he’s in several different countries in the span of 24 hours attending seminars and training top bartenders all across Europe.

His first experience traveling was not as glamorous. After dropping out of college in Italy, he had a one way ticket to London to chase his dreams- there would be no turning back. To make matters crazier, he didn’t know a word of English. After joining a coffee shop making drinks in London, he was able to support himself as he learned the language after his shifts each day. He came from humble beginnings, but he had lofty ambitions of being a leading influencer in the hospitality and mixology industries.

After a few years of hard work and honing in on his craft, he quickly came to realize all that he used to dream about as a kid following his grandfather around his restaurant back in Italy. Missaglia is widely accepted as a leading bartender, and has won several mixology competitions against some of Europe’s best mixologists.

Aside from being a bartender, Missaglia is extremely well versed in managing nightclubs. Just a year after arriving in London, he was given the opportunity to oversee the entire operation of a popular nightclub and bar, and excelled in the role. From there, he wound up joining a hospitality group as the bar director, where he managed bars anywhere from London to Hong Kong.

Now, he spends time as a brand ambassador for a leading beverage company, entertains and educates audiences on social media with weekly webinars, travels the globe training bartenders and attending seminars in the hospitality industry, and still pursues his passion for mixology.

Missaglia always dreamt of being as successful as his grandfather, but little did he know how successful he would wind up becoming. His grandfather would certainly be proud of all that he has accomplished, as Missaglia is far from the young boy in Italy that would follow him around his restaurant trying to soak up all of the information he could.

In fact, he is one of the most knowledgeable and accomplished figures in the entire hospitality industry and is showing no signs of slowing down.
