How This Pharmacist Lives Out Her Passions On A Daily Basis

Dr. Suzanne Soliman says that there have been numerous people in her life that have helped her reach her goals in life. From family to mentors, the people closest to her have supported her in becoming a successful pharmacist. But above all else, her husband and children are her world.

As a pharmacist, it can be hard to balance work with personal life, and Dr. Soliman has struggled with raising her kids and maintaining her marriage all while working long hours on weekends and holidays. Assuming that countless other pharmacist mothers were facing the same challenges, she decided to start a support group on Facebook called PhMG, or Pharmacist Moms Group. She founded the group to give these mothers a place to connect with each other, ask questions, celebrate wins together, and have a sense of community within the profession.

The group quickly blossomed to over 1,000 members within a month, and is now the largest pharmacist group in the United States with over 33,000 active members. It was quickly evident that many fellow pharmacists struggled with the same issues, and the group became a tremendous resource for mothers across the country.

Dr. Soliman was able to live her passion of helping women by starting PhMG. Her goals of advancing pharmacy as a profession have been realized through her publishing efforts. Over 100 of her articles have been published, while she speaks nationally about women and leadership, pharmacy, parenting and women’s health. She also serves as a medical expert and journal reviewer and has been featured in countless news outlets including The New York Times.

As a professional, she feels that it’s crucial to talk about both failures and successes because it’s the only way we grow as humans. She believes you can either continue along the same path forever and remain the same, or you can step out of your comfort zone, pivot, fail, learn, and grow. She’s recently stepped outside of her own comfort zone on social media by sharing the more vulnerable sides of her experiences with her family and personal life. In fact, her most engaged with posts have come as of late, as she’s been willing to share her “real” experiences in her life and show her followers that she is still just a person at the end of the day.

Dr. Soliman has always lived out her passions and has found tremendous success both in her profession and advocating for it. She has made a massive impact on countless lives, and is willing to share her experiences-both good and bad- along the way. While Dr. Soliman may not know what her next big move is, it’s sure to be something incredible.
