How to start writing a scholarship essay step-by-step

Indeed, out of all the steps one has to take on their way to a dream, beginnings are the worst. To say the least, to begin something requires overstepping one’s doubts and fears. Besides, there is a tendency that the more important the goal is, the more worries it invokes, thus making the beginning proportionally more difficult. That is why the scholarship essay is so special. That type of essay stands out among other academic papers because so much is on the line. In the end, you either get financial aid for your college or university education or are left without it. No wonder the pressure is pretty high!

Keep it cool

Mike Feinberg on Why Skilled Trades Are Outpacing Many College Degrees

Considering the above mentioned, we advise you to begin your writing assignment by calming yourself down and taking the most important step: showing up. The significance of this step is well expressed in Woody Allen’s famous quote: “80% of success is showing up”. In that quote from the headline director, the phrase “showing up” can mean a lot of things depending on the specific circumstances of its application. For a dancer rehearsing for the competition, it means coming to a dance studio and putting on training shoes. A person sparked with the idea of shifting to a more ecology-friendly lifestyle will show up if they find a garbage sorting service nearby and visit it with some stuff ready to be recycled. By this token, showing up in the case of getting a scholarship means sitting at the keyboard and starting writing a scholarship essay. Already there? Great! 80% are yours, and we will be honored to help you with the remaining 20%.

Consider your reasons

First of all, let us ask you why you need to get a scholarship allowance anyway? It may sound like a rhetorical question, but it is not. A detailed and comprehensive answer is your key to an eligible scholarship essay and favorable reviews on the side of the scholarship committee. You need to persuade the committee that if you receive a scholarship you will not just appreciate it but use it as the fuel feeding your goals. And the best way to persuade others is to persuade yourself first. Think about a scholarship essay as your special currency which has no price but far from being cheap. And earning this currency takes a profound understanding of what you want to buy with it.

Read the requirements through and through

The next most important thing on the list is making sure you know the requirements at least as good as the back of your hand, or leg (whatever suits your individual case). Reading the requirements and understanding them is key to coming up with a wise strategy. A widely known fact about scholarship essays is that they tend to come with sky-high demands for the paper’s content. You will normally be asked to tell about your background, your current situation, and your hopes for the future in an unfairly, it will seem, concise form and with a strong attachment to a scholarship itself. This stage is a great opportunity for you to read the room. Here you can decide whether you are willing to write it from scratch on your own or a handful of professional assistance, like the one expert writers from any academic writing company or services provide their customer with all across the USA, won’t go amiss.

Have you prayed tonight, Desdemona?

This is Shakespeare, you’re right. But what is he doing here? Is that a joke? Oh no. No time for jokes when it comes to a matter of scholarships. Shakespeare is a symbol of great English, an elaborate language rich in metaphors and synonyms. A scholarship essay is your one-in-a-million opportunity to demonstrate a great command of written English. Thus, before beginning on your scholarship essay, flex your writing muscles on other texts for the pure pleasure of a warm-up. To that end, the formula practice makes perfect has never sounded better. Still, if you do not feel 100% secure about your writing skills, once again, take advantage of getting your “write my essay for me” request processed by professional writers from AdvancedWriters and similar academic writing companies or websites to double-check the top quality of your essay in a custom and personalized manner.

Get inspired and pass it on

Scholarship essays are all about motivation. An applicant should demonstrate motivation in getting a scholarship which is supposed to inspire the scholarship committee to become motivated in allocating a scholarship to that particular applicant. Doesn’t it sound too logical and pragmatic? Yeah, it does. That is why you need to add inspiration here. Add a bit of bold enthusiasm, mix it with a handful of fantasy and your perfect zest revealing luxuriant imagination and bright identity is ready!

P.S. If you do not feel like plenty of original ideas are knocking on your head’s inside – do online research and Google some! Many students feel a lack of ideas when it comes to getting into the writer’s role. But, oftentimes, inspiration is similar to appetite, in a sense that it comes while eating … or reading inspiring samples of other people’s writing! Here is an axiom: once you feel sparked by the words of other writers you can use this energy to produce a paperwork fire of your own.

Turn off the critique

Did you know that editor and creator are two distinct facets of your writing ability? The editor must sleep while the creator is awake. Perhaps, it should be not a kind of sleep close to cybernation (after all, we still want you to recognize the words afterward). Nevertheless, a good, nice nap is a must for the editor while writing your first draft.  Free of constant judgments dramatically exclaimed by the editor, your creator part can reveal everything it has got so far much easier and faster. Try not to treat your first draft as a tall order. Take it easy! All ideas, however raw, provided pertaining to the topic of your writing, should be allowed to come in when writing the first draft. So turn off the critique and remember that you never know how much you know before you write it.

Let it go and take a break

When you start writing a scholarship essay, all you have to do is survive until the first draft. Once that is done, you can calm down and let it go for a couple of moments. Real-life equivalents of these moments can equal hours, days, or even weeks in some exceptionally lucky or simply fairytale cases. Anyway, you need to gain some distance between yourself and your essay when it is already under control, not going to run away from you. Now you can take a break. Make a cup of coffee, dance some ragga, or sing a famous song by Eliza from “Frozen” and let it go for some time. After you are done with all those activities, you can review your draft and do it. Unlock the prisoner and wake your editor up. It should not be hard. Once you start writing your scholarship essay the editor will become obscenely cheerful to work. Let’s bring her some joy right now, shall we?
