Recent Bentley Records Signee, Fenzrir, is Ridding of Genre Labels and Making Music that is All His Own

“Channeling my inner rage into making my tracks is a powerful reminder to always push beyond the scars and bad experiences with confidence and arrogance.” The Bronx rapper Fenzrir began his journey into music to channel, explore, and express his feelings and emotions. Facing his share of challenges in his life, Fenzrir has used those experiences as a way to grow and further his music. “One of the most challenging things I have had to overcome in life was being apprehended by the U.S. Marshall and placed under arrest in military prison,” Fenzrir shares.

Growing up in the Bronx, Fenzrir was influenced at an early age by the melting pot of cultures that exists throughout New York City. Finding musical inspiration through genre-mixing acts like Bring Me The Horizon and Hollywood Undead, Fenzrir is taking his own approach at bending genres. Describing his sound as Viking-inspired, the young artist takes primal feeling production and crosses it with his unique vocal cadence. Overall, it feels like a new style of screamo rap. Based around the subgenres of rock-rap and metal-rap, Fenzrir is showing the music industry that even genres have boundaries that can, and need, to be pushed.

The most real sense of inspiration for Fenzrir comes from the diverse base of fans he draws in with his music. “My greatest achievement as a musician is receiving countless messages from people who thank me for my music. It feels great to know that there are people who enjoy my style,” Fenzrir states. Yet again, looking to further the notion of what a genre can be, Fenzrir is hard at work on his next project, set to be released next year through Bentley Records.

To keep up with Fenzrir and his upcoming music, follow him on Instagram and listen to his music on Spotify.
