COVID-19 pandemic has introduced many changes in the lives of people and it has canceled the weddings of many people across the world. Hence, either people are postponing their wedding celebrations or they are looking for alternative means for organizing their wedding functions. It is observed that people from across the world are now dropping the idea of destination weddings due to the prevailing situation in the world.

Governments across the world have ordered for a maximum gathering of up to 50 people at any wedding. Hence, people are now focusing on small wedding ceremonies during the coronavirus pandemic. In order to maintain social distancing to contain COVID-19, the entire world is currently under the lockdown. And the situation is not likely to alter until the vaccine for coronavirus is available to the world.

The situation of joblessness has arisen due to the prevalence of the economic slowdown at a global level and it has led people to choose economical alternatives to organize wedding functions. Here are the ways in which the wedding celebrations have changed due to COVID-19:

Focus on Small Ceremonies

At present, a lot of people across the world are bearing the brunt of coronavirus and they are experiencing a situation of joblessness due to the global economic slowdown. It has led people to rely on small wedding ceremonies in order to enjoy their time well. And they are now postponing the reception party for later when the situation normalizes post the COVID-19.

However, many experts have expressed that small wedding ceremonies will become a common thing in the near future. The global economy will take some time to come back on track and until then, wedding venues will see a decline in their demand.

Digital Invitation and Booking

In 2020, even after the lockdown period is over, the risk for the COVID-19 infection will not be completely over and some changes in the organization of weddings will be seen. Other than focusing on the small wedding ceremonies with a limited gathering, digital invitations to relatives and online bookings of wedding reception venues will become a common thing.

If this thing becomes common then wedding reception venues in Chicago may see a hike in their business. Chicago is one of the popular cities that people choose for their destination wedding. It is due to the presence of many attractive wedding venues in the US city.

New Ways of Celebrations

Due to the changes introduced by COVID-19, new ways of wedding celebrations will be introduced across the world. Many people who can not afford to cancel their weddings due to personal reasons are inviting only their close relatives for weddings.

The digital lifestyle will spread its influence in different sectors and it will revolutionize the wedding industry as well. Due to the global slowdown, people will not be able to invest their extra money in planning destination weddings. For the year 2020, the limited gathering of people will be seen at weddings as it is the need of the hour for ensuring the safety of people from COVID-19.
