D Myke Is Out Hustling Everyone Around Him

Not one for backing down when it comes to talking about his life struggles and accomplishments, D. Myke speaks his mind. “I’m relentless, I’m dedicated, and I do not mess around when it comes to my business. I’m extremely serious about everything that I do, and this business is not a game to me.”

He continues, “What I’m doing is special. I’m a diamond in the rough and nobody can duplicate what I got going on. I have a very strong belief that there are very few who could have taken my path and come out the way I did. I am a different kind of monster when it comes to reaching my goals.”

So what does it take to reach this level of success? D. Myke sums it up in the following three ways: using life experiences to push you forward instead of holding you back; having the right mindset; and being at the right place at the right time.

Being Successful in the Present Instead of Being Stuck In the Past

D. Myke could have turned his back on his dream and called it quits long ago. “This has not been a smooth road,” he says humbly. “I’ve been homeless. I’ve been poor. I’ve been robbed, jumped and set up by people I thought were my friends. I’ve slept at the park. I’ve had to sleep in my car. I’ve been bullied by my own family. I’ve had to sell drugs and overcome a drug addiction. I’ve had to steal food from the grocery store just to eat. The list goes on and on, and these were just some of the major struggles I faced on my journey.” Instead of letting these setbacks define him, he kept pushing forward. “I have a very strong belief that there are very few who could have taken my path and come out the way I did. I am a different kind of monster when it comes to reaching my goals.”

It’s All About the Mindset

There’s power in having a positive mindset. D. Myke says “I realized very early on I had to do something special with the life I was given.” He continues, “I developed a mindset early on that I was going to do whatever it takes to make something of myself.” D. Myke first started through sports, and then started two businesses in the music industry. Through it all, he kept his eyes towards his passion, and now performs music in front of huge crowds.

Success Is Where Preparation Meets Opportunity

Don’t you dare tell D. Myke that he is lucky that he’s made it this far! It’s quite the opposite. Everything has come from being laser focused on his musical goals and working tirelessly towards achieving those goals. There was a slight detour into the modeling world in 2008 that opened up his eyes to the possibilities that a musical career could afford him. Then, after starting his first record label, American Dream, in 2014, he has since worked on various events with many artists such as Fetty Wap, Flo Rida, YG, and 1500. It was through this collaboration that D. Myke got into other aspects of the music business and started his second company: Penthouse Capitol, Inc.

His involvement with 1500 or Nothin’ has now allowed him to be completely involved working towards his true passion of writing and making music. “My music career is really taking off. Every day I am waking up to conference calls between lawyers and managers trying to ink deals.” D. Myke is far from saying that he’s “achieved” his musical goals. “I am working on my debut album relentlessly… and the project I am going to drop in late 2020 is going to be something really special.”

We asked D. Myke if there is anything else that he would tell someone looking to make it big in the music industry. “Find out what you’re good at sooner (rather) than later, and devote yourself to that craft relentlessly.” He continues, “Get up off your ass, invest and believe in yourself, and don’t let others’ opinions of you (stop you from reaching) what you are trying to accomplish.”  The last, and most important part he says is to “Trust your gut.” If success in the music industry is your goal, from what we’ve seen, D. Myke is definitely someone we should trust.
