One of the famous Aquarium of Hawaii – Maui Ocean Center managed to get on the eighth position among the “Top 10 Aquariums in the World”. An annual award function was organized by Trip Advisor by the name of ‘Trip Advisor 2018 Travelers Choice’ which basically highlights the top travel destinations and companies around the world.
Several other U.S. aquariums like the Georgia Aquarium, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Tennessee Aquarium were also there on the prestigious list along with Maui Ocean Center. These rankings were derived from an algorithm that examined both the quantity and quality of Trip Advisor reviews. It was observed that around 85% of reviewers gave a 4 or a 5-star rating to Maui Ocean Center.
The major attractions of Maui Ocean Center, according to Live Your Aloha, are live Hawaiian corals, new humpbacks of Hawaii and 3D Sphere that features the world’s first virtual encounter with Hawaii’s humpback whales. Also another striking feature of the place is the acrylic walkthrough tunnel in the Open Ocean. Only marine animals of Hawaii are exhibited in the center. The intention is to perpetuate the relationship between the Hawaiian culture and the sea.
