Selecting a database is not easy; one has to keep in mind the applications that will use the database. Despite all the problems, it seems MySQL is one of the most widely used relational databases.

Almost 40% of users are opting for this platform, which has made it a global software phenomenon. One can use it as a stand-alone database solution as well as in combination with other solutions. And installing mysql on windows or iOS is also not at all difficult.

MySQL has become widely popular, and big giants like Netflix also depend on it to run their business. The RDBMS is one of the most popular in the market because it is free.

Most of the free services often have bugs, and try to hook in the users to more concrete plans. But MySQL offers advanced features for free. It does not act like other free software that may conjure up images of buggy applications or trials designed to rope the user into purchasing more functional versions.

Other than being free, MySQL is an open-source solution. The open-source nature of the software lets it be customized or modified to fit the specific needs of any situation. Some many third-party tools and interfaces have been developed for MySQL because it is open source.

Another reason why many business persons across the world use MySQL is it has high scalability. MySQL can be used in large data centers to process high volumes of data. Moreover, it is also widely used in eCommerce implementations that require a more streamlined and efficient solution.

MySQL is a popular choice among people because it is highly secure and flexible. It can be used in almost any operating system. On top of its brilliant features, it has the support of the online community.
