Northshore Clinical Labs is now a prominent name in the US, thanks to its untiring endeavors in fighting the ravaging pandemic. Based out of Chicago, Northshore Clinical sprang into action exceptionally well, with its large-scale COVID testing and vaccination facilities spread all over the country.

With its state-of-the-art testing infrastructure, and expert teams of technicians working extended hours, Northshore Clinical Labs has successfully tested several thousands of people every day. In this ever-worrisome pandemic landscape, they have also collaborated with different organizations, nursing homes, educational institutions, and more than 100 summer camps, to provide speedy and accurate COVID-testing facilities, guided by Hirsh Kumar Mohindra, Director of Operations at Northshore Clinical Labs.

One particular association that deserves special mention here is the one with Learn Charter School Network, comprising tuition-free, high-performing public charter schools. Currently in its 20th year of operations, Learn Charter’s school network is now spread all over North Chicago, Chicago, Waukegan, and Washington DC, with 10 charter schools that cater to more than 4,000 scholars.

Northshore Clinical Labs has collaborated with Learn Charter for COVID-19 testing since March. They are scheduled to continue offering their testing services for the next academic year as well, through May.

Mr. Mohindra plans to mobilize more than a dozen of his team members to these schools so that they can go from room to room to test the kids and nurses at Learn Charter. In addition to the other campuses, Northshore Clinical has been supporting Learn Charter’s Chicago facility, too, after they could not find a local lab to support them with COVID testing services.

They have been offering their “White Glove Service” to Learn Charter, where the Northshore Clinical team turns up on-site fully dressed in PPE gears and collects samples for testing. The results are mailed back to the school.

As of now, Northshore has been offering 3 kinds of testing services. The first is Asymptomatic Testing, i.e. the weekly testing service. The second is Symptomatic Testing, which is essentially conducted ad-hoc when kids complain of having flu-like symptoms. And the third one is Quarantine Testing which is for specific kids who are suspected to have contracted the infection or have been exposed.

Mr. Hirsh Kumar Mohindra is hopeful that this can help prevent kids from quarantining for 10 days unnecessarily. He plans to further expand operations and expedite their services so that kids can get back to school, safe and healthy, in the shortest time. Being a father himself, he empathizes with the supreme need for kids to stay productive, learn and play, and never miss out on school.

Today, along with conducting COVID-19 testing, Northshore Clinical has also provided commendable support in hosting COVID vaccination clinics at the end of the summer term. The same has been confirmed by Markuail Griggs, Head Nurse for Learn Charter Network. She has also talked about nurturing a positive relationship with Northshore Clinical Labs and how they keep striving to contain the disease and help kids maximize their time at school.
