The Obituary of Keith Bernard Saine

Keith Bernard Saine was born on October 17, 1953, in Whiteville, Tennessee to Beulah Bea (Saine) Colston and Charlie Burl Woods, which both preceded him in death. He confessed his hope in Christ at an early age. Keith lived a simple yet happy childhood with laughter and love, he spent the majority of his youth with his Auntie Lou Bertha Saine. He relocated to live with his mother and stepfather Robert Colston (who preceded him in death) in Detroit MI where he attended Junior High School.

In 1971 he joined the United States Peace Corps which led to him becoming a member of the armed forces of the United States Navy on August 1, 1972, and received an honorable discharge July 23, 1975. After his discharge, he relocated to Jackson TN to live with his grandparents Albert and Ada Saine, who assisted with his walk with Jesus Christ. Keith met the love of his life, Michelle Ross, in 1980, in Jackson, TN. Their union produced three beautiful children Domonic, Calvin, and Latasha. Keith had a beautiful smile that would light up a room, a warm heart, and was a Jack of all trades. He especially found pleasure with cooking and spending lots of time with his grandchildren and godchildren. Keith worshiped as a member of several churches before joining Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Bolivar Tennessee, Pastor Algie Jarrett.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories in the hearts of his 2 daughters, Domonic Ross, Latasha Ross-Chism, and son Calvin Ross of Jackson, TN; three brothers – Dana Colston (Cynthia), Darryl Colston (Tracey) and Robert Colston (Audrea); 4 brothers who preceded him in death Charles Saine, Gregory Woods, Cedric Woods, and Calvin Woods; three sisters Cheryl Colston, Charlotte Woods, Pamela Shaw (Earl); five grandchildren Destianna, Jermie, Kalina, Caleb, Layla; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunties, cousins, godchildren and friends.

Triumphs and Tribulations of Keith Sain

Keith Sain was always a family man. He always wanted to be around his family, no matter what was going on or where he may have been. Family was very important to him. He was a man that never knew a stranger. One who could talk to anyone about anything, and adapt to any situation he may have been placed in. Even though he suffered from an addiction that he overcame later in life. The damage hit when his children were taken from him and the mother of his children Michelle Warren-Ross when Calvin was only a few months old. The three children they had together, Domonic Ross, Calvin Ross, and Latasha Ross-Chism were all placed in foster care at very young ages. Due to their parents’ addiction.

Keith would bring gifts for Christmas and birthdays to his children, from what Calvin says. “He always made sure we knew who he was, even came and picked us up. I remember all that. I wasn’t really around him everyday until I hit 15 and moved back to Tennessee. He was a real rolling stone, that wore hats too lol. But he always did what he could for me and my sisters. And I love him for instilling that thought process in me.”

Calvin’s mother Michelle Warren-Ross leaves Keith for reasons Calvin says he wouldn’t know. “If I remember right I think my dad said she just dipped one day, and was never seen or heard from again. I don’t think my daddy ever even cared to try to love another woman after she left. From what I’ve heard, she was everything to him. I’ve never known her all my life though. Only saw a picture that I faintly remember when I was like four years old.”

It was due to the support of Keith that Calvin dared to think beyond. His father’s guidance, support, and words of encouragement were always a source of motivation for Calvin. When he started making music at 17. His dad was all in, “He told me gone head son you can do it. Just don’t give up, I believe in you. I know you got it.” stated Calvin. He has been achieving his goals since.

In an Instagram post, Calvin informed his fans of his recent loss. Love and condolences poured in from over the world after he posted about his father’s demise. He shared pictures of his father and shared a few words with his followers.

Calvin said that his father had brought him up with high values, and as he grows older, he becomes more like his father. The loss is great. But Calvin has the strength from his father and will forge ahead.
