As Open Space Studio, Inc. celebrates its 10th year of leading the dance industry, it is making it a company mission to specialize in providing affordable dance classes to all now more than ever. With a vision to keep people dancing even during these tumultuous times, the studio is not backing down amid the pandemic, and it is determined to provide dance instructions through virtual classes.

Open Space Studio, Inc. offers a wide range of dance genres for students of all ages. It takes pride in maintaining a “family atmosphere” in its studio classes. This approach is the “cornerstone principle,” which the studio is founded on, and it is one of the reasons why the dance studio has been voted as “Plymouth’s Most Loved” dance studio by HulaFrog for the last three years.

Before the onset of COVID-19, Open Space Studio exclusively offered in-person dance classes only. However, the pandemic has pushed the team behind the studio to find other ways to keep children dancing. With that, the company has expanded its services and is now offering virtual classes where kids can learn to dance in the safety and comfort of their homes.

Open Space Studio, Inc. is best known for its compassionate approach in teaching students. With kindness and a mission to build up each dancer’s confidence, it has been well-loved in the community. The studio takes care of its students in the best way possible by ensuring that the musical accompaniment is age-appropriate as well as the costuming.

The virtual learning process at Open Space Studio, Inc. will allow teachers from the studio to apply corrections in a positive way to help students grow in their dance journeys. These dance classes will serve as a perfect outlet for children who are forced to stay at home and are faced with limited physical engagements and activities. It is a perfect way to socialize and adapt to the “new normal.”

Nicole Purtell-Hill is the founder of Open Space Studio, Inc., and she is determined to provide the best and most affordable learning experience to children during these trying times. Growing up, her family did not have money to waste. Her father would often barter printing for her dance lessons. As she grew up with an abusive mother, dancing at the studio became her safe escape from her chaotic home. From that experience, her dream to start her studio began. She was certain that she wanted to offer a safe yet affordable place “where all children are included and will create some of the best memories of their childhood.”

In the future, Nicole hopes to grow and expand their virtual program of Open Space Studio, Inc. across the United States while offering in-person classes at the studio at the same time. She hopes that parents and guardians will see these virtual dance classes as a perfect way to re-engage their children to the outside world and socialize, albeit through computer screens.
