Bauman Law was never built to take the easiest path. In 2011 when we opened with only two people, it would have been impossible to predict the workload that Bauman Law would eventually encounter. Presently, over 45 professionals work with Bauman Law out of Calabasas, California in a personal injury litigation and trial practice that has become one of the leading firms of its kind. Their success has been tied to one single principle, we accept the cases that others don’t and we fight them all the way through.

With over 30,000 completed case files and more than $200 million in recoveries for their clients, Bauman Law is not just another plaintiff’s personal injury firm looking for settlements. Bauman Law has become synonymous for honesty, careful preparation, and real results. Our clients come to us to obtain justice. The partner firms we work with refer their toughest cases to us. The legal community pays attention. And every step of the way, we are a team that treats each client’s matter as if their future depends on the result – because many times it does.

Narrow Expertise in Personal Injury Litigation

Bauman Law is not a generalist law firm. Bauman Law works solely in plaintiff’s personal injury matters. From automobile accidents to dog bites to life-altering injuries, Bauman Law’s case load includes the full catalogue of what individuals and families face when their lives are disrupted by the wrongful acts of others.

The strategy of Bauman Law is plain. They litigate when the other side wants to settle. They fight when the insurance companies want to pressure and bully them into settling. They place a value on their cases that others are unwillingThis means going to trial in small claims court for almost 100 cases around per month, which is an incredible volume that is often not matched and builds their skills at each level of litigation.

They don’t rely on an easy victory, rather they create leverage at each step of the case as well as leverage at every stage of the litigation process. Their work begins with investigation and continues until they have thoroughly worked through every line of inquiry. Their work has yielded jury verdicts over $5 million in value and resulted in the respect of over 100 other law firms sending them their hardest cases.

A Reputation Earned on Hard Work, and Tough Cases

There is no reputation by accident in the law; reputation is created. Bauman Law has been quoted in national publications such as The Los Angeles Times, CNN, and The National Law Journal and earned accolades from Super Lawyers and the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys. These accolades aren’t only related to the recognition of the name, but the trust in the effort of clients and fellow practitioners alike.

This trust is created every day. While many firms are value driven, the intentional effort to have BLP do this is the driving force for the firm; their intentionality, not their values, are the reason to work for the highest possible case value as they work hard for every opportunity to secure the highest recovery for a wronged client. Their firm is designed to support this diligent purpose with processes and a culture of cooperation and transparency, allowing every single team member the scope to maximize every opportunity for success.

While doing the right thing when there is no one watching is important to them.In an industry that can sometimes place a priority on profit over people, Bauman Law’s people are unabashedly advocating for the opposite. Their values of hard work, honesty, and accountability are not just check marks on an “About Us” website page, they are the foundation of daily decisions and they dictate behavior regarding how the firm treats both clients and staff.

The Firm’s Team Approach to Facing Legal Issues

The practice of law is constantly transforming. New statutes and regulations, shifting court precedents, and new approaches employed by insurance companies mean the firm must be proactive, not reactive. Bauman Law governs this through teamwork. Leadership promotes active solutions for issues that arise during the legal process and discusses progress collectively instead of in isolation.

The office is run by evaluation and not guesswork. Both supervisors and staff collaborate actively on each of these challenges as they arise in real time. Whether the challenge is changing something technical in the law, or a challenging liability matter, Bauman Law approaches these collaborative decisions together.  This attitude persists through each department and creates a culture of communication and accountability.

We value internal growth, too. Some of the firm’s employees have been here ten years or more. The firm rewards people who are great at what they do. There is a strong emphasis on creating an environment where people want to stay and build a career. Stability helps us provide better service to clients and creates more consistent results in court.

Recognition of Bauman Law, Not Only by the Public, but by the Legal Profession

While there is certainly a place in recognition by the public, one of the more significant forms of recognition comes from within the profession. Law firms around California regularly refer high-value or high-risk personal injury cases to Bauman Law because they know them, trust them and trust their process.

They don’t just refer the case to the firm. They are impressed by the results for the firm, trust the process of the firm, and appreciate Bauman Law will do what is in the best interest of the referring attorney’s client’s needs.

With Bauman Law it is about a belief and honor that they stand by. They create long-lasting relationships with their legal peers, achieve desired results, and maintain the integrity of the referring law firm’s client relationship. It is this level of cooperation that expresses the firm’s humbleness in their approach to increasingly pushing the envelope with honesty and professionalism.

In supporting their clients, Bauman Law believes they also support community

The firm’s mission is never contained to just the courtroom or the client. Bauman Law takes and supports pro bono cases for clients where that client needs help but may not have a means to access. Bauman Law and ESG have given thousands of dollars to charitable efforts throughout the greater Los Angeles area and remain active and supportive to professional associations like CAALA, the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles.

The mindset of giving back to the community is laced into all that Bauman Law does. They believe they don’t just represent clients, they also represent society. Giving back, whether financially or legally, is yet another way to live their values.

This sense of service manifests in all of the ways the firm interacts with clients. Each and every case is treated with the same level of preparation, no matter what the dollar amount is. Clients are kept informed. Clients’ concerns are listened to. And when the stakes are highest, Bauman Law comes to fight for their clients.

Strength Through Growth and Flexibility

What began as a two-person office is now a firm that employs nearly 50. That growth was intentional. Systems were created to allow for scale, while maintaining excellence. Technology has been leveraged in each department in order to maximize efficiency and reduce overhead. However, even during the growth stage, their foundational values have not changed.

Flexibility is critical. Bauman Law keeps itself educated through legal conference attendance, industry write-ups, and regular in-house training. They are always open to new tools, but are very cautious in the implementation of them. Each option must fit into their commitment to serve clients well and for better outcomes.

They also know that growth can not be at the cost of their culture. There is a high level of diversity in their staff. Leadership opportunities within the firm are shared. Everyone on the team is encouraged to leverage and present different perspectives and information. These values strengthen the firm, and will give them the confidence to roll with the changes that both the legal world and the operational world will throw their way.

Why Bauman Law Stands Out

Many firms like to market themselves as fighters. Bauman Law has been able to back up that claim through case history, client references, and referrals from fellow professionals. They take on the tough cases. They put in the effort. And, they will never lose sight of the fact that there is a person behind every single file they handle, and that person’s life has been shaken.

The focus for Bauman Law is not on getting awards. The focus is on getting outcomes. Their mission is simple: maximize the value of each case and maintain the trust of the client, and the attorney referring the matter. This helps the firm remain grounded.

In a market filled with competition, Bauman Law continues to grow not because of bells and whistles, but because of base value. In doing so, they have established themselves as not only a lawyer of choice for clients, but a lawyers’ choice in the legal community.
