“Art is the only thing in life that you can do without any preparation whatsoever.” -Gustav Klimt

This quote is true for any artist, but it’s especially true for those who create art under the constraints of a disability. David J. Marchi is an artist with acquired savant syndrome. He’s worked tirelessly to overcome pain by using his talents as an artist. His work inspires many people to live their lives to the fullest while overcoming obstacles.

People with acquired savant syndrome are gifted with extraordinary skills and abilities. They exhibit abilities that far outweigh their normal intellectual and developmental functioning. This rare condition is often found in people with autism and Asperger’s syndrome. Symptoms of acquired savant syndrome may occur simultaneously with other conditions such as brain injury, chromosomal disorder, or mental retardation. It is often hard to distinguish someone with savant skills from someone with other disabilities.

There are several different types of savant syndrome. For example, one form is inherited. It is not known what causes it. However, there are many theories. Several people have been born with it. In most cases, this syndrome is caused by a genetic defect. People with savant syndromes tend to be very creative and highly intelligent. Their abilities often extend far beyond the realm of their natural abilities. Some may have a gift for drawing or inventing things.

After suffering from a serious boating accident, David decided to pursue painting. Although his hands and back were injured, the accident led to a new passion for the artist. He began to have vivid color dreams a week after the accident. These dreams were so intense that they compelled him to paint them. He painted over 40 paintings in the first six months after his accident. Most of these images were of landscapes filled with intense color.

David says his work is like a “living entity” that speaks to him. He cannot control the colors he chooses, but he knows they are meant to be. This is because he sees color vividly in his head before he paints. Marchi believes that the vividness of his visions is a direct result of his injuries. He believes that the loss of sensation in his hands and back allows him to see more clearly.

Painting helped Marchi cope with his pain. It allowed him to express his emotions through his work. He used his art to deal with the difficult feelings associated with his accident. His vivid imagination and ability to draw influenced his work. He could use his artistic gifts to visualize the scenes in his dreams. Marchi is now an acclaimed artist. He has sold hundreds of paintings around the world. His artwork is featured in collections throughout the United States and Europe.

Marchi paints with all his heart and soul. He uses vibrant colors and bold brush strokes to make a statement. His vivid paintings are a representation of his experience living with pain. Marchi’s work inspires others to continue pursuing their passions despite obstacles. He shows us that we all have the power to heal our minds and hearts.
