You may have heard of shilajit or you may have already tried it. Also termed, mineral pitch, shilajit is better known in other cultures as mumie, mumio, or moomiyo. While we are only beginning to rediscover its health benefits, ancient cultures used it as a panacea.

What Is Shilajit?

Dear, Klairs Arrives at OLIVE YOUNG US With Bestselling Serums for Sensitive Skin

Shilajit is a mineral-rich resource that can be extracted only in specific regions. Its pitch-black appearance may not look much. But, its unique composition is what makes it special. It can only be formed from the combination of unique environmental conditions. Pure shilajit resin is rare and expensive. These are what drive irresponsible sourcing, counterfeiting, and false marketing of shilajit.

Shilajit consists of organic matter produced when adaptogenic herbs and plants undergo advanced stages of decomposition. Over the years, decaying matter mixes with humic acid, fulvic acid, and soil minerals. All the while being subjected to ideal solar radiation, temperature, pressure, and extreme weather disturbances, among others.

It takes at least 40 years for shilajit to be formed naturally into mumie rocks. From which, shilajit resin can be extracted.

What Are the Health Benefits of Shilajit?

Shilajit has gone far from the traditional cure-all resin it was known for since prehistoric times. Its time-tested benefits have been steadily gaining scientific proof in recent years.

Fulvic and humic acids are the two main components of shilajit. It also consists of essential minerals, trace metals, and other nutrients naturally mixed with the soil. Another key component are dibenzo-ɑ pyrones (DBP). These are metabolites that support vital body functions from improving energy absorption to supporting immune response.

Below are just some of the health benefits that you can start enjoying when you supplement with shilajit resin:

Stress Relief

More is demanded from everyone in this age of information and disruption. Gone are the days when 8 to 5 was the norm. These days everybody hustles from their first sip of coffee or tea until their mind and body are too tired to function in any way.

The world is always awake and it won’t wait for you. Come morning, more will be demanded and you need to be rejuvenated to deliver optimum performance at work. But also bring quality time to your personal relationships.

Shilajit enhances energy and nutrient absorption to help you recover from stress and fatigue [1]. Its high mineral content also helps replenish the micronutrients your body requires to repair and renew. That way, you can wake up fully charged to be all you have to be and still find time to pursue other interests and hobbies.

Level Up Energy Levels

Shilajit takes on adaptogenic properties. Supplementing a healthy diet and exercise with shilajit further helps unlock the energy in the food you eat. More energy means amplified performance.

It also gives your cells more fuel to power up cellular level repairs. In turn, this helps reverse long-term damage or stop the development of lifelong diseases. [2]

Enhance the Quality of Sleep

Effective rejuvenation comes with quality sleep. Researchers have found reason to believe sleep deprivation is associated with micronutrient deficiency. [3]

Shilajit is mineral-rich. Regular intake can help improve nutrient levels in the body in two ways. First, shilajit makes higher levels of essential nutrients available. Secondly, it improves the bioavailability of these nutrients. That way, these nutrients can be made more easily available in forms that the body can use to power up mental and physical functions, as well as for cellular-level repairs.

Improve Gut Health

A properly balanced gut supports enhanced nutrient absorption from food and increases the bioavailability of energy from food.

Among the long list of minerals that may be found in shilajit are molybdenum and selenium. These minerals help facilitate a natural detox. This process rids the body of toxins that may be impeding efficient and effective nutrient absorption. [4]

Promote Brain Health and Mental Performance

The more roles and responsibilities you try to fulfill every day, the more your brain works overtime. The constant pressure to perform can leave your mental faculties, including memory, struggling.

Shilajit, unlike controversial nootropics, may help increase dopamine levels in your brain. Regular intake of shilajit has also been shown to possibly improve cognition. That includes enhanced memory and cognitive performance. [5]

Improve Immunity

These days, we are all challenged by pathogens that can cause diseases and infections of pandemic proportions. Health takes front and center. A daily dose of shilajit may help up your immune response.

Shilajit contains powerful antioxidants. Some of its natural components also catalyze the production at higher levels of antioxidants naturally produced by the body. Antioxidants help fight off free radicals that can cause a series of chemical reactions that eventually damages cells. Antioxidants in shilajit work by neutralizing free radicals. [6]*

Depending on how shilajit is sourced, it may also contain high levels of zinc, magnesium, and calcium. All of which support a healthier immune response.

Promote Skin Health

It can’t be denied. Some level of vanity is a must to drive optimism and self-confidence. If that helps you deliver optimal performance and sleep better at night then great skincare better be part of your daily health regimen too.

Shilajit promotes healthier-looking skin. Thanks to copper, zinc, and sulfur in shilajit, your skin can breathe easier, turnover faster, and experience renewal and rejuvenation like never before. [7, 8, 9]

Why Shilajit Resin?

It is common to find shilajit supplements claiming fulvic acid as their active ingredient. In contrast, Pürblack Live Resin keeps all of the beneficial components of shilajit intact*. All of which have to work in synergy to deliver any health benefit.

With Pürblack Live Resin, you also get to benefit from a patented manufacturing process that prioritizes the same*. It is covered by patents that defines how only the highest quality of shilajit is sourced from the wild. It goes on to define the use of low heat processing to preserve the unique physical and chemical properties of natural shilajit while ridding it of impurities (US10130656B2, US10967004B2, US9903747B2, US10184818B2).

Shilajit intended for use as a supplement can only be in resin form. Any shilajit presented otherwise is dubious. In resin form, shilajit takes on unique physical and chemical properties that make it beneficial for health and wellness.

When shilajit is processed into pills, tablets, tinctures, liquid, or powdered forms, it loses these properties. That’s why, even when it is more convenient to take shilajit in such forms, only shilajit resin can be truly beneficial.

Likewise, shilajit intended to be ingested requires purification. Any product containing raw shilajit is guaranteed to contain harmful microbes, pollutants, heavy metals, and other toxins.

Shilajit may bring beneficial improvements to your overall health and well-being. But, be very careful where you choose to get it from. Be meticulous. If you’re unsure, look for a patent to ensure safe manufacturing practices are in place. Ask for a Certificate of Analysis to establish safety and guarantee product efficacy.
