3rd Street Donuts is unlike your ordinary donut shop– it features a one-of-a-kind secret recipe that combines California and the Middle East to create a perfect, soft, fluffy donut that has quickly become an international consumer favorite.

Mundhir al Alawi came up with the concept of his innovative donut shop while living in Los Angeles back in 2017. The idea sparked after recurring visits to a variety of locally-owned shops in his area; especially those found on 3rd Street. After learning the various ways each shop created the dessert, he decided he’d attempt to make his own.

He proceeded to hire an American pastry chef and obtain a collaboration with a local California bakery to assist him in creating the perfect donut recipe. In order to remain authentic to a Los Angeles donut, they had to make it soft and fluffy, while not being too sweet or too filling, and always leaving the desire for another. After several tries, they secured the secret recipe that would later become the signature donut of 3rd Street Donuts Shop. Essential ingredients originated from both the United States and Oman, coming together to establish the most internationally unique donut the world has ever seen.

The first 3rd Street Donut shop made its debut in Oman in 2018. Due to its enormous success, the business has since opened two more locations in the area. There are also additional locations coming soon to neighboring Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Dubai, and Bahrain. Each shop features over 120 donuts flavors, ranging between 40 to 50 unique flavors a day. All donuts, including their fillings and jellies, are made in-house every day. The shop’s menu also includes more than a dozen artisanal coffees specifically made to accompany the innovative dessert.

Since its opening, 3rd Street has accumulated over 38,000 followers on Instagram (@3sdonuts) and now sells over 2,000 donuts per day. The business is very well-known for its decorative donuts for every occasion, as well as their “donut towers”, which are cake-like structured donuts usually custom made for special events. All the shops also pride themselves on delivering outstanding customer service at all times, which Alawi believes is the most important part of his business. Recently, 3rd Street Donuts has opened up applications for franchises of the business, and they can be found on www.3sdonuts.com.
