African American Rapper MrWalkinLick Tastes Success

For any singer to become popular, it is generally their songs that come into play. American rapper MrWalkinLick rose to popularity after his memes were widely shared. The singer became an internet sensation due to his memes.

However, it would be undermining his talent if memes are considered the sole reason for his popularity. The singer has worked hard for the past decade to taste this success. The singer of African roots has developed his own style of rapping which is quite unique in many ways from his contemporaries.

The singer grew up in Miami and found solace in music since his school days. The singer’s father too was quite respected back home in Africa. When his father passed away he was buried in Big Warri which is a city in the Southern part of Nigeria. He got his big break with Stack Money Entertainment in 2008. The record label signed him after two years of the beginning of his rapping career.

His growing up rapping influences were Slick Rick, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and 2 Pac. His contemporaries from Miami are Jt Money and Trick Daddy. The style of MrWalkinLick is quite different from both of them.

The singer has featured in popular media many times. He has featured in blogs and websites that focus on Nigerian music. The singer has been getting a lot of screen space on popular channels in Nigeria. The singer’s popularity is increasing very fast. His airtime in MTV Base Africa, PlanetTv Radio, TraceTv and Sound City Africa is quite significant.
