How Early Interactions With His Grandpa Shaped Colton Graves’ Country Sound

Colton Graves has come a long way from his beginning moments of being exposed to music. His first interactions with music came while riding in his Grandpa’s truck, singing along to their favorite songs. These beginning moments helped shape Colton Graves’ sound today. “I started singing along with my Grandpa Lloyd (aka my best friend) in his truck when I was little. Been hooked on it ever since” said Graves.

Colton Graves’ early moments began working on his family’s ranch and playing shows around the Sacramento/Tahoe area when he could. During this time, he met Aaron Kaplan, who asked him to come make music with him at Extreme Music/Sony ATV. “I write my music, but I have the privilege of working with Aaron Kaplan, who is such a great producer and musician, followed up by Ryan Johnson engineering,” said Graves. “We are a great team and have a lot of fun working together. Aaron’s cat, Fritz, helps out sometimes too.”
