Meet Ellen Alexander, a successful American model, singer, and artist with Russian roots. She’s graced the covers of countless fashion magazines, featured in several TV shows and movies, and she’s just released her latest romantic single “Shadows.”

But, she won’t stop there! Her ambitious career shows no signs of slowing down as she now embarks on a business venture in the biotech industry.

Coming from a prestigious family of scientists back in Russia, Ellen developed a progressive and curious mind for science and technology from a very young age.  As a child, she attended an intensive program that focused on mathematics and science, and she obtained a degree in Economics from the Russian Academy of Economics.

Despite her prestigious family background, Ellen soon realized that her real passion was to work in the entertainment industry. Upon graduation, she moved to Los Angeles where she started her career in front of the camera, but she continued reading about science and dreamed of researching the human body to find cures for untreatable diseases.

Ellen’s dream turned into reality last year when she partnered with a bio-engineering student from Harvard University to work on a biotech project called ‘Create U Future.’ The project aims to research anti-aging and to help women have brilliant and healthy children at any age.

Driven and inspired by autobiographies of successful personalities including Allen Poe, Steve Jobs, and Friedrich Nietzsche, Ellen is a self-taught and self-driven individual. She explains how her interests and experiences in different sectors taught her the importance of investing in herself to create opportunities:

“It’s not necessary to have a degree in biotech to start a business related to it. What’s important is to believe in a cause and to follow your path and ideas. I see our biotech project as a global collaboration of curious and creative brains. I want to contribute to saving humanity”.

Even during quarantine, 2020 and 2021 are shaping up to be significant years for Ellen. In addition to working as a social media fashion influencer, she has managed to fill her calendar with meeting scientists, legal advisors, and other specialists to progress with research, the website, and paperwork. In fact, her hard work has already started to pay off as she reveals that she’s already got clients on the waiting list.

When asked how she deals with such overwhelming workload, she expresses that she wouldn’t have it any other way, “Work is my number one motivator. It is a form of self-expression and a way to inspire myself and others.” She takes one day at a time and combines consistency with discipline to achieve success.

Ellen certainly is an inspiration for many people out there. She advises, ‘Schooling gives you the opportunity to meet different people, but the real education that makes us successful takes place outside the classroom.  Be self-directed learners, start working, and start exploring”.
