Tucked in the middle of the historic town of St. Michaels in Maryland is a boutique art gallery. Despite its modest size, the Hopkins Original Art Gallery is nothing short of momentous. Home to the best-selling and award-winning artist, Ryan Hopkins, the shop has catered to art enthusiasts and collectors from all over the world.

It’s not often that artists can claim that they’ve impacted the art scene in their region. But to have the modern artist, Ryan Hopkins, make such a claim would be more than acceptable. Ryan is most renowned for his moving works that have drawn the adoration of thousands and attracted many collectors. Ryan mostly provides his work through the Hopkins Original Art Gallery, which he considers his headquarters. But his art goes way beyond the four walls of his quiet shop. Many of Ryan’s works have crossed oceans and landed in private and corporate collections in various countries across the globe.

Ryan Hopkins is a product of the prestigious Yale University. He graduated from the institution with a degree in Architectural Design and Fine Arts. Upon entering the professional world, he quickly entered the industrial design space, creating work for some of the country’s best architects and urban designers. But even as his career progressed, Ryan always felt a part of him was missing. He yearned for the freedom to move away from “straight lines” and pursue the unpredictability and creative expression that he fell in love with in college.

After a considerable internal battle, Ryan took on the challenge of pursuing a fine arts career. He rented out a small garage and went straight to work. Eventually, he would start selling his work, beginning with various abstract expressionist works that would quickly capture art lovers’ hearts and minds.

Within no time, Ryan was attracting a national crowd, getting commission work from some of the country’s most well-known collectors. Today, the Hopkins Original Art Gallery has become one of the most successful in the nation with over a thousand pieces sold from one artist alone: Ryan himself.

Ryan Hopkins is a result of continuous exposure to the best of the best. When he was still a student, he would frequent Manhattan to visit museums and galleries. He learned from art historians, professors, and art thought leaders. Ryan has always been a sponge, ready to absorb. Yet at the same time, he always seeks to bring a new revelation to tried and true ways. The artist’s motto is, “Discover the never before seen.” This modern artist moves away from the traditional to create a new modern. Many enthusiasts have praised Ryan for his genuinely captivating work.

Walking into the Hopkins Original Art Gallery is like floating through color. Collectors are quick to declare that Ryan’s work doesn’t “only hang there,” but “demonstrates a natural interaction with gravity, evaporation, and gestural force.”

For Ryan and the Hopkins Art Gallery, the mission is one and the same: to create art that anyone and everyone can enjoy. Looking to the future, Ryan seeks to increase his renown and become an internationally recognized and celebrated artist. And with his talent and creativity, it won’t be a surprise when he gets there.
