If You Don’t Fail, Your Dreams Aren’t Big Enough

“Believe in yourself no matter who doubts you, no matter how many times you fail. And please, always recognize your worth.” For New York based Paulina Zelman, she wishes she could go back in time and tell her younger self just this. She’d always been an incredibly talented musician, but always had doubts about releasing her music for the world to hear. Once the pandemic hit, however, she finally decided to release her music and the impact of what she’d done was felt immediately.

Not only has she been able to relate to her listeners on a deep personal level and bring them joy, but her mentality around music has changed forever. She is now more excited than ever to create music, and the only regret she has in releasing an album is that she hadn’t done it sooner.

Paulina grew up dealing with self consciousness and a shy attitude, and putting her vulnerabilities and experiences in the open has been a huge transformation for her. Even though she has dealt with some people close to her criticizing her music, she’s learned to accept that not everyone will love her music and that is completely alright. Now that she has gotten past her fears and can live with doubters and naysayers, her potential is truly limitless.

She advises anyone that is struggling with doubt or fear of criticism to do what you love and never stop. One day, something will click and there will be no one that will be able to stand in the way of you and your dreams. Take it from her, as she has been able to overcome some of her biggest fears and the results have been nothing short of incredible.

Even with all of Paulina’s success as of late, she still is candid about her failures along with her successes. Her opening up to her weaknesses allows more of her audience to feel comfortable in showing vulnerabilities in response, and Paulina has been able to connect more with her audience as a result. She believes that failure is success in itself, and if you don’t fail on occasion then you aren’t trying anything big enough in pursuit of your dreams. She knows that she is far from perfect, but her newly found confidence in herself and her ability to produce incredible music will keep her motivated to produce new music from here on out and no idea of failure will ever be able to slow her down.
