The Entrepreneurial Spirit of Anthony Sorella and his Rise into the Toronto Music Scene

Anthony Sorella was born with an entrepreneurial spirit. Much to his parent’s dismay, Sorella always knew he would pursue a career as his own boss after his high school graduation. “They were so scared for me and I love my parents, it hurt to see them so stressed, but it was also a blessing because it held me super accountable for my actions,” recalls Sorella. The Toronto native began his career working in nightlife promotion through various clubs in his home city. From there, Sorella helped found many other companies, including his current project, Neighborhood Creative, which uses marketing strategies to promote community in Toronto. The biggest personal takeaway for Sorella, though, has been the confidence he has gained in himself which has helped him begin his journey into the music industry.

“Growing up I was tone deaf. Maybe I still am, but I have always had a sense for beats and rhythm,” says Sorella. Beginning his musical career around four years ago, Anthony Sorella began as a DJ and has now evolved into a producer. “I don’t write lyrics just beats, and I don’t really go into deep dark stuff. I like to keep things lifted and happy.” Sorella shared that his biggest inspirations are not other musicians, but rather a group of people he met from his years working as a promoter. He calls them ‘afterhours rock stars.’ “I love those people. Party for hours and still have energy for more,” Sorella comments.

Now with three singles under his belt, Sorella is successfully creating that early morning party aesthetic with his music. Deep in production on his debut album, P4r7y D0nt St4hp, Anthony Sorella has crafted an entire album for those “rock stars” of the late-night scene. “Its overall happy, good vibes you can dance with or just wind down to with friends,” explains Sorella. The album is set for release on New Year’s Day, 2021, so it will make for the perfect soundtrack to settle into the new year with.
