Stories have long been known to have the power to create a significant impact. They enable the understanding of how other people are living their own lives and prompt insights about overcoming life challenges. Anyone looking for inspiration can turn their attention to David Wells, Jr., also known as Dino Wells, who is set to strike heartstrings with his story of success and resilience amid diversities.

A screenwriter and aspiring director, David is a familiar face to some American viewers. As an actor, David appeared in the hit television series, Prison Break, as the character Trumpet’s right-hand man during the sixth season aired in 2005. In 2006, David then went on to portray the role of John Anderson in the film Glory Road. And his first-ever TV role was on the show called Mama Flora’s Family. In the show, he played the character of Willie’s friend and got to act together with Blair Underwood.

One of his latest endeavors is the four-time award-winning documentary titled When The Bell Rings. With David playing the starring role, When The Bell Rings tells the story of David and his gutsy attempt to return to the ring as a 40-year old former boxer whose career was cut short. It documents his intense training to shape up and the torment he is suffering from brought about by the memories of his fatherless childhood — an emotional turmoil that leads him to decide to reunite with his estranged son.

The documentary explores his journey as a rising boxer in the amateur ranks during the early 1990s. It showcased his outstanding record of 67 wins and 13 losses and the string of impressive achievements credited to his name. He was a runner-up in the CYO boxing tournament in Chicago, the quarter-finalist in the National Pals, runner-up in the Golden Gloves, silver medalist in the Georgia State Games in 1995, and participated in the 1996 Olympic preliminaries.

When the Bell Rings is more than a boxing documentary — it is a story of an individual who survived and thrived despite the challenging circumstances life put in front of him. And as a nod to the documentary’s impact and David’s dedication to his life and family through the sport of boxing, the World Boxing Council presented David with the recognition of Honorary Champion and Ambassador for Peace.

Currently, David is leading the film company, Ambient Path Entertainment, together with his wife. They aim to become a dominant figure in the filmmaking industry and rival the best companies in the field. With David’s inspiring story of resilience and his unique approach to storytelling, he hopes to find an audience in people of all ages. And it would not be difficult to do so for David’s relatability, and fighting spirit is guaranteed to resonate with a diverse range of people. Regardless of your status in life, you would come to appreciate David’s evolution to greatness.

Now SK Dayne and Ehrich Van Lowe of RM (Resurrection Media) are producing David’s life story as a feature motion picture based on his documentary. The production is slated for late 2021. Also David and his wife hooked up with Lucky Sinz Productions and a host of aspiring filmmakers from TikTok to produce their suspense short film “Twelve,” which is filming in March 2021 and is currently in pre-production.

David is in the middle of writing his autobiography and looking for more ways where he could communicate with people from all over the world. In the coming months, David hopes to be involved in speaking engagements, screenings of his documentaries, and Q&A events to further establish his place in the screenwriting and film production industry.

We can expect one thing: David will continue to touch lives through his story.
