David Towner has walked through unique paths of faith. He wants to help as many people walk through the same so that they can live a life of strength. After surviving three surgeries and going through multiple difficult phases in the course of his life, he now has a book. The book, Today Is My Favorite Day is a theological, personal experience book laced with humor to inspire and uplift. It is a highly relatable book that every reader will find useful in getting through life’s challenges and travails.

As a pastor of over 22 years in Tampa Bay, Florida, David Towner has navigated through many storms. These storms have tested his faith, and at about the most challenging time of his life in 2013, he received six simple truths from God. While recovering from three surgeries due to carcinoid growth in his appendix, he started saying, “Today is my favorite day” daily. Throughout his stay in the hospital, those were the words that helped him get through each day. His family felt the toll of those events, but his strength never wavered because he had a positive attitude.

Since his surgeries, David Towner has gone on to preach about having a positive attitude in all situations. He took his favorite saying and turned it into, first, a sermon series and then a 25,000-word book. He also wrote a prayer book and workbook to accompany the original text. David Towner organized and ran a pilot campaign for the book between the end of 2019 and early 2020 with his church members and others around the country. The positive reviews the book, workbook, and prayer book got were numerous and outstanding.

Everyone who read the book had positive words to say about how the book changed things for them. Marriages that were on the verge of crumbling fixed their issues. People, with the help of the book, developed a positive mindset toward their life challenges. And people even bought multiple copies so that they could give to their friends and family to inspire them.

Today Is My Favorite Day is a theological book that infuses humor into the account of David Towner’s personal experience. And it focuses on six truths that the reader can use to develop a hopeful and positive mindset. It is a theological book like no other, and with many biblical references, it gives the readers new insights on handling life challenges with renewed optimism and hope.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, the book has provided support to David Towner, his family, and his church members. A lot of people have drawn inspiration from the book to weather through the uncertainties, isolation, quarantine, and financial hardship that came with the pandemic. The book is for difficult times, and everyone who has read it can attest to how helpful it is.

David Towner, through all of his experience as a man of God and a family-oriented man, has enjoyed unflinching support from his wife, Tonya. And together, they have gone through difficult times without growing apart. They have gone through intense financial struggles, David’s surgery, the divorce of one of their daughters, the mental health issues of a family member, and the premature birth of a grandchild, among others. They have always relied on God and kept up a positive outlook to get through those difficulties. These and many more are highlighted in the book for readers to draw inspiration.

David Towner hopes that the book will gain traction over the coming years. He also hopes to translate the Today Is My Favorite Day book into many languages, and that churches will use it as a reliable source of inspiration for their small groups. He plans to make a brand out of TIMFD, write two books, and start a membership community and a podcast. His ultimate goal is to have a platform for encouragement and inspiration. And he hopes to do that with Today Is My Favorite Day as the foundation.
