How VicBlends took over the Barbering Industry in 2 Years

Victor Antonio Fontanez, aka VicBlends, comes from Fayetteville, North Carolina, and is currently staying in Atlanta Georgia. His dad is Puerto Rican and his mom is Russian. He was born April 9th, 1999, so he barely made the 90s baby cut off.

It started with taking over his city first. VicBlends wanted to make sure he could establish himself as the best barber in his city, then with the trust and support of his community he felt he was ready to go to the next level. A lot of people try to inspire the world before inspiring their neighbors they grew up with and watched the struggle.

But VicBlends thinks it’s super important to start at home. Social media allowed him to let everything be known at a global level. He started working on his social media consistently about 2 and a half years ago. The plus to his generation is the opportunity to be seen by millions in a matter of seconds. With the passage of time, he got to know how to use it correctly.

When he started seeing people travel hours and take flights just to get a haircut from him, that’s when he was like “Oh damn, this is getting real”. VicBlends is very self aware of what he is currently doing and the responsibility he holds, but he never wants to let it get to his head. He believes if he boasts God’s blessings he will remove them faster than he gave them to him. He keeps good people in his circle who check him anytime they see him swaying off a bit and he is very grateful for that.

His first celebrity client was his big bro Dennis Smith Jr. He’s another hometown hero they have that was able to make it to the NBA. VicBlends’ relationship with him has definitely grown past just a service, but he’s always treated him like family since day 1. He is definitely somebody VicBlends can call for help and advice as his life and career is starting to grow. He has supported him since he was a server in a restaurant and was cutting in his brother’s garage.

VicBlends was always requested early on for a cut because he puts great energy and service out. He kept clientele around even in the garage, but lately this past year he has seen the demand to go up crazy. He gets at least 50+ DM’s a day on Instagram requesting his service. He regrets that he has only got 2 hands and 24 hours a day, or else he would love to cut everybody in the world.

His income now isn’t based around just cutting hair, so it definitely has grown into a different lane. But he says that he has been making over $100,000 a year since cutting hair after graduating from his barber school. He truly believes this should be the minimum for new age barbering. He looks at barbering like being in the ocean, either he is going to be swimming, or sinking. There’s way too much money out here to be made for a barber. He believes he is in a multi-billion dollar industry, it’s bigger than a haircut.

Besides the fade or the crispy lineup, he believes what stands out the most is the energy and experience he leaves his client with. He built his service around elevating people not only in their appearance but confidence as a person. That’s where the price is really worth it!
