Toby Welsh was born in Eastern Iowa. However, before he finally completed Elementary school, he had already attended over 40 different schools. As an adult, he found himself switching jobs frequently, always trying to get a job that was better than the last. Welsh did lots of jobs from factory work to managing hotels to doing farm work and welding. After three to four months at any job, he had learned the ropes and eventually grew tired of it.

In 2014, Welsh was hired by a restoration company and quickly moved up the ladder. He became officially certified in multiple aspects of restoration, such as Mold Remediation, Fire Restoration, Water Remediation, and Air Duct Cleaning. He became the Project Manager for all Fire Restoration jobs and earned himself access to a company vehicle and a decent salary.

It was then and there when Welsh learned that he excelled at Air Duct and Dryer Vent Cleaning. He felt satisfied and happy with all the work he had done, which was a definite first for him at that time. He was glad that he was able to help people, and he had a sustainable means of living through Air Duct and Dryer Vent Cleaning. After almost three years in that position, he spent many sleepless nights mulling over his plans to start his own business.

Most people discouraged Welsh at the time, seeing as how he had a really stable job that had amazing benefits. Their disbelief only made his dreams grow stronger. He was incredibly determined to make his dream a reality. And so, in 2018, he quit his corporate job, established his own business called Midwest Duct Works LLC, and went out to search for his first customer. All he had was a small portable air duct cleaning machine, a receipt book, and the iron will make his plans work no matter what.

He firmly believed in his motto that: “Every no that he would get will bring him much closer to a yes.” On his first day, he managed to get two residential jobs and scheduled them both for the next day. He carried his positive attitude all throughout and did the best job he ever could. He spent several months doing three to six homes a week trying to save money so he could afford to buy a nice work vehicle. Welsh was broke, but his passion for achieving his dream always came first.

Eventually, he landed his first commercial job doing a County Sherriff’s office. The entire job took him three days and paid over $5,000, it was his first-ever big payout, and it worked great for almost an entire year. It was then that he developed a system that would be sustainable in the long run. Currently, Midwest Duct Works LLC has a team of seven employees. They serve around 1,200 new customers each year while keeping a loyal customer base. They clean commercial, residential, and industrial Air Ducts and Dryer Vents as well. They sanitize homes and businesses as well as clean and repair chimneys.

Midwest Duct Works LLC provides all-around great service with regards to Air Duct and Dryer Vent cleaning, and they’ve managed to capture a loyal customer base due to their fantastic services. Through Toby Welsh’s perseverance and passion, he was able to create a successful company from scratch and grow it into a company that provides great value to its customers and the world.
