George Scorsis, the famous personality known for managing businesses in the industry such as alcohol, cannabis, and energy drink has been given an important position as the Executive Chair of the board of directors at WeedMD. And the charge has been given to George Scorsis by keeping in mind his immense contribution to the industry such as alcohol and cannabis for over the last 15 years.
He has made a big name in the beverage and cannabis industries for leading as well as managing many big corporations in his career. George Scorsis had served as executive advisor of the WeedMD board over the last six months. Recently, WeedMD Inc., a federally-licensed producer and distributor of medical-grade cannabis had announced the completion of the acquisition of Starseed Inc., a medically-focused, federally-licensed cannabis company. In addition to this, WeedMD also completed the private placement of subscription receipts with the LiUNA Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada (LPF) for a sum of $25 million.
George Scorsis is a part of the new team of board of directors appointed after the acquisition of WeedMD with Starseed leadership. Currently, WeedMD has four representatives from WeedMD and three representatives from Starseed. In the past, George Scorsis had served as the CEO and director of Liberty Health Sciences and contributed to taking the company to new heights. And keeping in mind the high growth of the Cannabis industry in the United States, there are going to be new developments that are expected from this billion-dollar industry.
