Forex and binary options trading have been present in Africa for a very long time but there seems to be a renaissance happening in the region looking back at the recent developments in the past two years.
For starters, more forex and binary options traders are becoming vocal. There is a constant rise in the number of expert traders that now train newbies on how to start trading and social media has further helped in spreading the knowledge of the opportunities that come with trading.
Even with the rise in awareness about binary options and forex trading, the industry can still be considered to be in the infant stage in Africa. Due to numerous testimonials from successful traders and the eagerness by the vast majority of African youths to earn a better living, many fail to consider the risks that go along with trading.
At the foundation of creating a solid future for forex trading and binary options in Nigeria is the need to have newbie traders understand that trading isn’t a get rich quick scheme. It is like every other legitimate business that would require years of hard work and skill development to actually become great at.
The future of trading is very tied to the economic future of Africa as a whole. While social media has made the information dissemination about trading very easy, Africa as a whole still needs a lot of development to do. The influx of traders in the African market doesn’t draw the cashflow volume it should. Many traders invest the bare minimum because of low income.
When the average African earns more, traders will have more income to invest and trading won’t be seen as something that’s just left to the privileged. One of the big developments in the African online trading space is the rise of local online brokers that allow trading in local currency. This eliminates problems that come with working with foreign currencies and having to go through multiple currency conversions before, during and after trading.
While you may think what has been touched on so far has been all over the place without so much of a deep dive into what the future holds for binary options traders in Arica, the truth is it that it is kind of hard to predict where the industry will be in the next 5 to 10 years. It could be a crash and burn situation where the industry thrives for a short time and an influx of not so many disciplined traders would have the government placing strict rules on trading in Africa. Unscrupulous brokers can also lead to the industry being short-lived in Africa.
One thing is for sure though, establishing the online trading industry in Africa would require a balance of good service from brokers, an improved economy from countries in the region and re-education of traders on why online trading is a skill that needs to be developed over time.
