The spread of COVID-19 forced everyone to stay in their homes, and as everyone tries to make it out through this pandemic, one of the things that help maintain sanity is art. It is seen everywhere, in books, magazines, social media, television shows, etc. But what is not perceived by many is that art is not made solely for aesthetic or entertainment purposes. As Jerzy Kosinski once said, ” The principle of true art is not to portray, but to evoke.”

Artists create pieces that stimulate the audience’s minds, proving that art is a powerful tool in conveying messages for raising awareness and questioning social constructs. The harmony of colors and lines as it exists in space creates an image that can make anyone rethink their own beliefs. Every word or stanza, combined with the right melody, can open the listeners’ eyes to happenings they did not know existed. All over the world, there is influential art in different forms created by artists that are mostly not known.
