In a global survey, many health experts have shared details about carrying out the process of abortion by pills for up to 10 weeks of pregnancies at home. They have added that one should have complete knowledge about the medicines to be used for this procedure. According to them, one can make an online consultation with a qualified doctor at home and there is no need to visit the doctor in-person for this.

The health experts have expressed that early medical abortion is a common procedure for pregnancy up to 10 weeks. It is not completely safe for a woman to do this alone as medicines used in this procedure have side-effects too. Hence, they have advised that everyone should perform the abortion procedure under the guidance of an expert doctor.

Sharing the details on this subject, they said that two medicines namely mifepristone and misoprostol are given to a pregnant woman. The two medicines are a part of the abortion kit (Mifegest) and this kit is authorized by the World Health Organization.

Mifepristone 200 mg medicine is to be taken by a pregnant woman orally with water. It blocks progesterone, the hormone responsible for maintaining pregnancy and it ceases the pregnancy development. The second medicine, Misoprostol should be taken 36-48 hours after consuming Mifepristone. And its dosage includes 3 pills each of 200mcg.

Misoprostol leads to uterine contractility but it comes with cramping pain and bleeding. According to experts, one can easily get the abortion pill online and follow the abortion procedure by taking online consultation with a doctor at Medside24.
