Survey: 86% of Youngsters in America want to become Social Media Influencers

Social media has not only remained a source to interact with people, but it is also benefiting a lot of companies and individuals. Most of the youngsters who grew by spending time on social media sites are aiming to become social media influencers now.

According to a report from Morning Consult, about 86% of young Americans want to be social media influencers and 12% of youngsters in the country are already working as social media influencers. And 20% of youngsters said that they know an influencer personally. The report was prepared after a survey was conducted on 2,000 young Americans aged between 13 to 38.

The social media influencing business is projected to grow by $6.5 billion by the end of this year. There are many positive effects of social media that are pushing people of any age to be a part of the social media sites.

There are many social media influencers around the world who have become millionaires overnight. The report has ranked the top five most popular influencers in the US. They are PewDiePie, Jeffree Star, Shane Dawson, Markiplier and Kylie Jenner. They are worth tens of millions of dollars. Social media influencer PewDiePie, who is a YouTube video game commentator, has 102 million subscribers and had last year earned about $15.5 million. YouTube makeup guru Jeffree Star has 16.5 million subscribers and pulled up $18 million last year.

Social media is booming among people due to many reasons. It is allowing people to interact with someone who is thousands of miles away. And the businesses of all sizes are conducting several digital marketing campaigns over social media to generate more online exposure for their business.

Social media has become a part of daily routine for most people around the world. Averagely a person visits five times on social media platforms in a day.
