A Unique Career: Ernesto Weisburg is a Private Investigator and Minister

Have you ever heard of a private investigator who also happens to be a minister? It’s not every day that you get to see a fusion of two very unique career paths. That’s because Ernesto Weisburg is no ordinary Joe, and he’s certainly not James Bond either.

Weisburg has worked as a private investigator for the past two decades. In his ambition and care for the community, he also hopes to open a church of his own someday.

“It all started when I was just twenty one years old,” says Ernesto Weisburg.

Weisburg saw an ad in the New York Times for a private investigator school and he was tempted to join and get started. While just a young man at the time, Weisburg would go on to enroll in the school and become a private investigator. After his studies, he would obtain his license to begin working as a PI.

Ernesto Weisburg’s first job in the field of private investigation was for a large firm, and he was entrusted with undercover operations. He worked in a warehouse and was required to find out information without blowing his cover.

“It’s not an easy job,” says Weisburg.

He says that you can spend hours staring at one spot, waiting for a target to no avail. It’s difficult because if you happen to look away for even a moment, you may miss everything and all of your time spent waiting will be wasted.

Ernesto Weisburg says that’s why this career path is only for the patient ones and for people who are willing to wait to get the results and the information that they need.

Aside from being a private investigator, we also mentioned that Weisburg is a minister. So, how did he decide to become a minister?

During Weisburg’s career as a private investigator, he realized that he had an interest in other cultures and the world in general. Moreso, he took a keen interest in religion and wondered why so many religions existed in the world. This fundamental question intrigued Weisburg and this is why he decided to become a minister.

After conducting research online about how to become a minister, Ernesto Wesburg stumbled upon CCU Colorado Christian University and called them to express an interest in their Master of Divinity program.

At the time Weisburg had a Bachelor of Criminal Justice (BSc), and after looking at his record, the school decided to admit him to their program.

Out of deep interest and passion for people and community, and the relationships that go into making them work, Weisburg has lived the best of both worlds – being a minister and a private investigator at the same time.

Now Weisburg says, “I want to give God as much of my time as possible.”

He says he has ambitions to open a church of his own someday as well as multiple private investigation firms.

While he’s had a rewarding career filled with moments he is proud of, Erneso Weisburg is only getting started.

“I am going to keep praying.”
