The establishment of a much-needed product or service could be sparked by brainstorming and strategically thinking of its conception. But in other industry powerhouses, what can jumpstart a venture are realizations that come while one is struggling with personal hardships. Such is the case with Matt West, who stands at the helm of Boom. This digital wellness company offers guided mindful journaling training and helps users in utilizing mindfulness to promote wellbeing.

Born in Northridge, California, Matt West was inspired by his psychology teacher, Mr. Prince, back in junior high school to explore the field and delve into the fascinating attempt of understanding the limitless potential of the human brain and what fuels people’s actions. His journey involved obtaining two Master’s degrees in psychology from Pepperdine University and Cal State Northridge by the age of twenty-four, getting married at the age of thirty, making six figures. But four months shy of his 35th birthday, Matt West realized that he was merely coasting along through life.

In 2018, after a series of significant life events, he decided to exercise more control of his life and pay attention to his emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing. From improving his eating and sleeping habits to establishing a proper sleep schedule, Matt West practiced self-care strategies, only to contend with the distraction that comes packaged with social media.

It was his foray into mindfulness journaling that made the difference for Matt West. And after substantial work on building emotionally healthy habits, this wellness authority eventually built the wellbeing tech-focused startup called Boom.

Boom is an emotional fitness app that supports millennials, providing guided mindful journaling training and mindfulness for its users. It tracks mood, energy, and attention and allows people to capture and save bright moments of life and be productive and joyful. With guided mindfulness journaling, this app is instrumental in boosting positive energy and attitude, developing healthy thinking patterns, and much more.

As a wellness platform, Boom is designed to build the habit of mindfulness, drawing power from neuroscience and cognitive behavior therapy to understand themselves, build non-toxic relationships, and stress less. Moreover, it stands out to incorporate artificial intelligence that personalizes daily activities and matches them with the user’s particular needs.

Offering an immersive experience intended to create authentic results in one’s life. And Matt West plans to take the app to the impact the lives of millennials by aligning its purpose and features to his vision of empowering millennials globally.

Currently, Boom is gaining traction, but it will be no surprise if it becomes a staple application in the coming years. Its focus on helping people build emotional and mental strength to combat burnout and understand themselves better can impact countless lives for the better.
