The man behind the magic is a 25-year-old musician who, in the last five years, birthed the GoodSource Artist Collective. AV King, fueled by a sense of purpose from a higher power, describes it as “the kingdom, the tribe, the ministry” – a group of artists creating for the sheer love of creation.
As AV King rinses off his juicer, he proudly outlines the three pillars of GoodSource Artist Collective: “music, media, and athletics.” This isn’t your run-of-the-mill artist collective; it’s a fusion of talent spanning vocalists, producers, live instrumentalists, photographers, videographers, content creators, basketball enthusiasts, and skateboard aficionados. AV King affectionately calls them “the tribe,” emphasizing the camaraderie that permeates through hoop and skate sessions.

AV King’s journey to creating this collective wasn’t a straight line. In the 4th grade, he discovered his love for music through the trumpet. He shares, “When I picked up that trumpet and I realized how much I loved it… and how natural it came, it was never any question… I just never put it down.”
Initially dreaming of NBA courts, his path shifted, and now, living his dream, he likens it to watching a tree grow. “I’m already living my dream; now the tree’s gonna keep on growing,” he says. “There’s gonna be more branches, more birds, [and more] bees on the tree.”
GoodSource Artist Collective isn’t confined to Lake Elsinore; it’s a mobile force spreading its influence in places like Malibu, Santa Monica, Wine Country, and even Northern California’s San Francisco. AV King and saxophonist Chris Panameno shared the stage with 1500 or Nothin’, a group with credits ranging from Adele to Snoop Dog.
Their reach extends to Red Bull Records in Los Angeles, where the music and media departments collaborated with Jay Millian on his upcoming record. Millian’s track “Baby” found its way into the NBA 2K23′ Season 7′ soundtrack, showcasing the collective’s rising prominence. The GoodSource Artis Collective live band creates a spectacle, captivating audiences and introducing new ears to their spirited tunes.
Back in Lake Elsinore, AV King plants roots in community upliftment. GoodSource Artist Collective organizes local art shows, both musical and visual, collaborating with local businesses. Free basketball training sessions for the youth and community-friendly five vs. five matches have become staples. And this is just the beginning – GoodSource Artist Collective has set its sights on expanding into the parks, starting a revolution from the grassroots level.
Reflecting on the past, AV King attributes the collective’s success to an unexpected source: “The Holy Spirit does it.” It was an intuition, a feeling that guided him to create something beyond himself. “To think about something like this is wild, but it just felt right, and I knew what the mission was,” says AV King. “A team of creators that love God; helping each other, motivating each other, growing together, making the dreams happen.” Looking forward, he envisions GoodSource Artist Collective growing even larger, the metaphorical tree expanding with more branches, birds, and bees.
