The Best Present to Get for a Fan Based on the Fandom They’re In

Fandoms are serious business. Many people have a favorite piece of media, a band or a musician that they follow religiously. For a truly devoted fan, there’s nothing better than receiving a present that has to do with their fav. It’s especially good when it’s well-thought-out and references the film or series instead of being merch since it shows more thought and attention went into picking something. If you’ve got the birthday of a special something coming up, and you know that they love to geek out, here are some helpful ideas.

South Park

The American animated sitcom became well-known for its satire, as well as its own brand of dark, often surreal humor and the heavy use of profanity. Over the years, it has continued to draw the attention of large numbers of fans and continues to remain a fan favorite. First released in 1997, the show was renewed to continue at least until 2027, so those who love it still have a lot to look forward to.

If you’re getting a gift for a fan of the series, you should definitely have a look at the South Park boy band Funko. A hardcore fan most likely owns the standard figurines as well, so this set means that you don’t have to worry about buying a duplicate. There’s also a wide range of apparel, including knitted sweaters, plush robes and backpacks. You can also get a special South Park Monopoly game, bound to be a hit with collectors.

Barbie

Barbie is an integral part of the lives of many girls and women. Now, after the movie’s release, the craze surrounding all things pink seems to have intensified, with fans rushing to buy everything they can get their hands on. The good news is that there’s no reason to worry. There’s such a wide range of products to choose from that you’re bound to find something. From beauty products to clothing and even foods and beverages, Barbie-mania seems like the next best thing, and it’s here to stay for the foreseeable future.

Vinyl of the movie soundtrack or collectible dolls featuring the numerous outfits Barbie or Kean wear in the film are an obvious choice. If you want to go a little further, you can search for clothing pieces that match those from the Barbie movie. The motion picture’s launch created a lot of hype in the fashion world, and many pieces could inspire you. The deep blue dress paired with white knee socks, hot pink cowboy couture, sparkly disco jumpsuit, and, of course, the Birkenstock Arizona in bubblegum pink can all make any Barbie fan happy.

Anime

Anime is a little more complicated since you’ll have to dig around to find the perfect thing. Since it is diverse and involves many different stories and plot points, you’ll have to see which anime they enjoy best. “Chainsaw Man” became one of the world’s most popular manga and anime series. By August 2023, there were twenty-six million copies in circulation. Fans enjoyed the series’ dark humor, the storytelling, and the way the characters developed. There’s no better gift for a fan of this series than a Pochita plush toy. The chainsaw devil is an essential part of any fan’s collection. If you are ready to invest a little bit more, you can get them the entire manga collection as well.

“Naruto” is one of the most popular anime in the world. Together, the original series and Shippuden have over 720 episodes. This continues with Boruto, showing that this is a devoted fandom. Many have followed the story for years, growing up alongside its bubbly and likable main character. A Funko collectible figure is also a good option for “Naruto” fans. Since the anime is so popular, you’ll have to dig around a little bit to find the rarer ones. Pins and charms also work since they let fans bring their favorite characters along regardless of where they go.

The Lord of the Rings

“The Lord of the Rings” is one of the most popular fandoms in the world. Even though the books were first released in the mid-1950s, and the movie series was released between 2001 and 2003, they are as captivating as ever. There’s even a running joke among fans that a LOTR lover will periodically have a marathon of the extended versions of the movies just to unwind and escape to the world of Middle-earth again.

If you want to get them something extraordinary, you can look for a rare copy of one of the books since that is a dream come true for any Tolkien lover. An illustrated edition also works perfectly since the average LOTR fan can never own too many editions of the books. Board games are a popular choice as well. They’re common among fantasy fans, so bringing one of them as a gift is bound to be a hit. And, of course, to get something completely iconic, get a replica of the One Ring with the added inscription in pure Black Speech.

And, of course, a T-shirt featuring The Prancing Pony Inn will do just as well to keep things casual.

Star Wars

Much like “The Lord of the Rings,” “Star Wars” also boasts a large and diverse fanbase that has remained devoted throughout the years. With so many movies, series and products referencing the world of Star Wars, you won’t find yourself short of inspiration. For example, you can get a chopping board shaped like the iconic Millennium Falcon that can serve as kitchen décor anytime you’re not using it. There’s also a waffle maker that instantly makes batter into the same shape.

Watching “Star Wars” takes some time, and the story is complex, including multifaceted characters and numerous themes and storylines. To mimic this complexity, you can buy a 1000-piece puzzle featuring the characters and scenes. And, of course, there’s nothing like a replica of the lightsabers. Luke Skywalker’s is arguably the most iconic, but a Darksaber created by Tarre Vizsla, a Mandalorian, and the first of his people to join the Jedi Order.

When shopping for a fan, you need to do a little research beforehand to get something exceptional.
