How to Choose the Perfect Chairs for Your Restaurant?

Opening a restaurant can be extremely stressful – especially if it’s your first one. There are so many little things to take care of, and you must feel like every little detail must be perfect.

One of the critical things is the decor – including the furniture you select for your guests. The decor sets a specific mood and gives away a lot about the restaurant.

That is why chairs are principal, and you must choose them very carefully. We advise you to do good research before you buy anything – but since we want to help you out, keep on reading to see what you should bear in mind before selecting the perfect chairs for your restaurant.

Material Selection

Finding suitable material is one of the most crucial things you need to do. Opting for higher-quality materials saves you money in the long run, ensuring your chairs last longer.

If you opt for cheaper materials, you will need to repair the chairs regularly, costing you money and time. Chairs for commercial use need to be high-quality, as they will be exposed to higher wear and tear compared to the chairs you use at home.

We advise you to stick to high-quality hard wood or high-end metal chairs, but wooden chairs add a more sophisticated appearance. If your restaurant has a modern vibe, you can even choose a combination of the two to ensure your chairs last you well over a season.

When picking out the materials, you should consider where you plan to use the chairs. If you are looking for outdoor seating, the materials need to be waterproof – or the chairs will be ruined after the first rain.

For outdoor seating, look and see if the chairs have an enamel over the material to protect the chairs from the elements. If not, the best space for those chairs is inside the restaurant.

Color

When choosing the color, you should remember to choose colors that go well with the rest of the furniture and decor and the science behind the shades. Choosing red and orange for your seating is the way to go, as these colors can make the guests feel hungry.

So, you can choose either of the two or simply – stick to the neutral beige or gray if you cannot make up your mind.

Style

Style is a bit tricky – the chairs should look flush with the rest of the decor, and they certainly shouldn’t stand out compared to everything else. Commercial restaurant chairs come in many styles, and there has to be the perfect style for your restaurant. There are chairs with a ladder or curved back, a window back, a banquet, etc.

So, if you don’t have much experience in decorating, you should ask for help.

Functionality

The functionality of your furniture is something many people forget when picking out chairs. When picking out the chairs, keep in mind how ample the space is and whether the room needs to be transformed on certain occasions.

For example, if the space isn’t too large, and it sometimes needs to become a dancefloor, you will need to move away from the chairs and the tables. So, the option to pick bolted-down furniture goes straight out the window.

Moreover, if the space is somewhat limited, make sure that the chairs you buy are stackable and relatively lightweight, as this will allow your staff to pick them up quickly and move them away. If the chairs are light, you can transform the space in minutes!

Size

Another thing to bear in mind is the size of the chairs. This is why it’s imperative to pick out the tabletops first – as it allows you to measure the space for the chairs. If you pick out the chairs that are too high or too low, your guests won’t be able to fit correctly at the table, and you will likely need to find another set of chairs.

Comfort

The chairs don’t just have to be stylish, durable, and functional – they need to be comfortable to sit on. The guests need to feel comfy in the chair if they will sit for a while and truly enjoy the meal.

Picking out the chairs with thicker and higher-quality padding will support your guests’ backs. Read the reviews of chairs you have your eye on, or try them yourself to see if they are comfortable or not!
