Instagram was founded by Mike Kreiger and Kevin Systrom. This app allows users to post photos, videos, and reels. Instagram is available in 32 languages and is used worldwide. This platform is mainly used to post photos and view others’ photos as well.

Learning how to be successful on Instagram is about making people engaged and posting great content. It isn’t just about the likes or followers count. It’s about how regular you are in your posting and how well you’re maintaining your feed and content. These things make your profile look great and people will automatically engage with it.

6 Do’s For Being Successful On Instagram

1. Be Consistent

Be very active and post regularly on Instagram if you want to increase your followers and engagement. Don’t go long periods without posting and then spamming in a row. Observe when your followers are the most active, post during that time. Use Iconosquare to see your posting times.

Your feed should look consistent, beautiful, and maintained. Never sell out random ads that don’t fit your brand, just for the sake of money.

2. Find Your Niche

Be specific about what you post. If you’re a travel blogger, you need to have authority. It is important to find your theme and style and maintain your grid according to that.

3. Try Getting Featured

If you somehow get featured by bigger profiles, it will gain you, followers, very quickly. Also, make sure to approach bigger profiles that are relevant to yours. Tag them in your photos or mention them in the caption to get noticed. Besides this, you can also buy Instagram views on MegaFamous today to get noticed faster.

4. Keep Your Hopes High

You cannot expect a change overnight. Keep patience and don’t give up. Don’t stop posting just because you’re not getting a desirable number of likes or comments. Rather focus on what to do to increase your follower’s count and engagement.

5. Interact With Your Followers

If you want to be successful, it’s important to interact with your followers by replying to their comments and asking questions. It’s a good idea to get involved in industry chat. Followers’ feedback matters a lot for any social media influencer.

6. Make Your Bio Attractive

The first thing that every follower of yours will notice is the bio. Make the most use of your Instagram bio by adding links, websites, mentioning different brands or products, etc.

9 Don’ts For Being Successful On Instagram

1. Don’t Post Your Crappy Photos

People don’t like to see your crappy photos. Not even photos of Martha Stewart. People won’t hesitate a bit to speak on your face and degrade your self-esteem. And this certainly doesn’t mean you have to be a professional photographer.

You just need to post good photos and improve by taking better pictures every time you click. Quality over quantity always matters on Instagram. You can use photo editing apps like Snapseed, Pro HDR, VSCOcam, etc.

2. Don’t Focus More On Followers

People spend a lot of time working on improving likes and comments on their pictures. You will see that one day someone has gained 10,000 followers and after a few weeks it will drop down to where it was.

The engagement of people is very important to gain success. You need to get people talking, get them to ask questions, post a witty caption, etc.

3. Don’t Annoy People

Be authentic and act real. Don’t ask people to like, share and comment on your posts. Do not ask them to follow you back. You need to keep genuine interest in people to be successful on Instagram.

If you interact with someone with the same interest they will automatically follow you back. This also comes to another important thing you can’t spam too much or have too much activity in a short period or Instagram will think you’re a bot. Amuse your followers, don’t annoy them.

4. Don’t Play The Follow/Unfollow Game

It’s frustrating when people play the follow and unfollow game on Instagram.  Don’t ever do that. Utilize that time to create good content for Instagram. Some people follow a certain person just to unfollow them after a while. Don’t do this, it will make your followers drop.

5. Don’t Just Copy/paste The Hashtags

Don’t waste your time using the most popular hashtags on your posts. Usually, these hashtags are not authentic and some “top bloggers” tend to copy-paste these hashtags just to gain likes. But this can trick the system and your account could be banned as well.

6. Don’t Be Afraid To Think Out Of The Box

Instagram rewards creativity and authenticity. Murad Osman, Follow Me To a guy, was led around the world by his girlfriend and his video went crazily viral. Even Not My Nonni who takes beautiful iPhone shots around Florence, her street shots also went viral. Your account and posts should depict a story that will make your followers engage in it.

7. Don’t Use A Weird Username

It’s better not to make your username too hard to find on Instagram. Otherwise, people can’t find you and won’t follow you. People don’t like spending time searching for profiles unless it’s for stalking purposes.

8. Don’t Make Your Profile Private

If you want more engagement and higher chances of success, then it’s always better to keep your account public. People want to see your profile once before they decide whether to follow or not. But if your account is private, people won’t be patient to wait for your approval so that they can see your profile. You will gain followers quickly if you set your account to public.

9. Don’t Steal Content From Any Social Media Platforms

Never steal content from any sites without mentioning the reference link or giving credit to the original creator. While reposting, always use proper attribution.

Conclusion

If you want to be successful on Instagram, you need to have a proper idea about what to do and what not to do. This article talks about the do’s don’ts that would make your profile look even organized and bring success to you as well.
