Author, entrepreneur, and single mom Nicole Phillip knows how to make business work for her. But what truly sets her apart is that she’s here to help other entrepreneurs make their dreams a reality.

Inspired by her mother’s entrepreneurship at a young age, it’s no surprise this is the path Phillip chose. One of her earliest memories is watching her mother navigate the ups and downs of the business administration LLC she set up, Steadfast Life.

Seeing a bevy of official documents in the mail and noticing how hard her mother worked motivated her work ethic. It also drove home the importance of having your own business in addition to whatever corporate job you were working. While building her businesses and growing wealth is an essential aspect of what she does. What still motivates and pushes her forward is helping others turn their visions into reality.

Persevering Through Obstacles

Phillip is motivating and pushing other entrepreneurs to fulfill their dreams, but the reason she’s so good at it is because of how successful she’s been at doing the same for herself. She had to overcome obstacles starting from when she was young when her mother suffered a stroke. Unfortunately, her mother’s diagnosis led to paralysis. Suddenly, a young Phillip went from being a junior in college to a caretaker for her mother and her siblings—with a sister and brother in high school at the time, that was no easy feat.

As she began to work to maintain her family, she started a corporate career. She also established a small business to bring in a separate stream of income.

“I was inspired to create wealth that could help me bring my mother home,” she said. “And after I was laid off without notice, having my own stream of income that helped me bring in money on my own terms was even more helpful.”

Another challenge was on the way when she was let go from her day job. While she used a year of severance pay to work on her business, she went back to her corporate job at the time. But something didn’t feel right, and she felt uncomfortable because, as she said, “I wasn’t living with a purpose.”

Even though she was given a 2% raise during her annual review, her heart wasn’t in it. So, she found herself giving in her notice instead of accepting the raise and continuing in the corporate field.

Phillip has let faith guide her throughout her journey, something that helped, especially when she was 25 years old and gave birth to her son. As a single mother now, another element that drives her forward through her entrepreneurship is the idea of building assets for this intimate family of two.

Authentic All the Way

Persevering through the obstacles paid off as she soon set up Ministry Event Marketing. She’s grown her business to a six-figure agency in just five years. Authoring the book “Single, Saved, and Bitter” was the first step she took towards where she is now—on a path to help other entrepreneurs build the life of their dreams.

A cut-throat business attitude may work for some. Still, Phillip takes a more holistic viewpoint, which leads to a more fulfilling journey for her and the people she strives to help. For her, it’s crucial to teach entrepreneurs not just how to make the most of their business but how to compartmentalize their lives so they can operate to the best of their abilities in all areas of their lives.

As a single mom  herself, she has the experience and the tools in her belt to help entrepreneurs. She helps them empower themselves to move beyond caretaking roles and into the driver’s seat of their lives and brands.

Recently announcing the establishment of her new program, the inspirational “Behind the Brand,” she’s taking things one step further, helping entrepreneurs to build their business while remaining authentic in  today’s era of digital media .

Forward with Faith & Family

With her sister Jalisha by her side and former colleague Letashia  as her assistants and motivated by faith, she wants to show clients a way forward beyond the business. The impact behind their work is often just as significant as the work itself. She wants to help people engage with and maintain their passions without being demotivated by the challenges that setting up a business can bring.

One of the ways she does this is by encouraging clients to focus on their financial goals and their health needs both mental and physical. As she said, “Health is so important. Having the right people around you to support you and your mental and physical health, including  your goals with someone and having them encourage you is empowering ”

She pushes her clients to live their true purpose, and in doing so, to focus on their mental health needs as much as they do their business needs. Her brand is about helping people to build and create luxury brands that inspire and motivate, not just soulless corporate entities that focus on profit over people.

With “Behind the Brand” as her latest venture, she aims to help participants work with experts to prioritize what they need without sacrificing their personal lives and help. Having a team on hand to help them with their goals and work towards their business missions is her goal—to give entrepreneurs , especially women, the support and resources they need to find true success in every area of their lives.
