Today, there are a lot of factors involved when it comes to running a successful business. When you are looking for a business phone service, you need to find a phone service that will protect the security of your company. You have a lot of confidential information. You do not want to surrender the information of your company, your employees, or your customers to an unscrupulous individual. What are some of the biggest threats that you need to consider if you run a business today? There are several threats that you should keep in mind.

Phishing Attacks Are Still a Major Issue

Phishing attacks are still a significant issue when it comes to internet access. It is critical for you to train your employees and your customers to defend against these attacks. When a phishing attack takes place, someone is posing as someone else. They will try to get that person to surrender their username and password, trying to hack into the company’s confidential information. Furthermore, it is critical for businesses to use something called two-factor authentication. That way, if someone surrenders their login credentials, their account is still protected by the second factor.

Ransomware Can Take Down a Company

Next, it is important to shine a light on ransomware attacks as well. Ransomware attacks are a significant problem. They have impacted governments and large corporations. When someone falls victim to a ransomware attack, a virus completely locks up the network, making it impossible to use. Then, the ransomware is not released until someone pays a fee, thus the name ransomware. Often, these attacks are designed to target industries where time is a significant factor. Healthcare companies are a common target. The best way to deal with ransomware attacks is to prevent them from happening in the first place. That is why companies need to work with trained professionals who know how to defend against these attacks.

A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Attack Is Often Overlooked

Finally, distributed denial-of-service attacks, usually referred to as DDoS attacks, are often overlooked. This is an attack that seeks to take down a network. A malicious actor will flood a server with so many commands that it simply cannot handle them. As a result, the network shuts down. Even though these attacks are common in the world of gaming, they can take place in any industry. As a result, it is critical for companies to defend appropriately against these attacks.

Make Sure To Defend Against These Threats

These are a few examples of significant cybersecurity threats that all businesses need to take seriously. Think about how much your business relies on the internet. If your business lost internet access, what would this mean to your company, your employees, and your customers? You need to maximize the uptime of your network and streamline the daily operations of your business. Make sure that you have a plan in place to defend against these significant cybersecurity threats.
