Award-winning director, actor, and producer Mukesh Asopa is well-known for his innovative blending of genres including thriller, drama, horror, and romance. This makes Asopa’s films stand out in their unique, artistic nature highlighting them in the mainstream film industry.  In addition, the main languages of his much-admired films have been Hindi, English, or a combination of both. Asopa is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada and an alumnus of the renowned Barry John Acting Studio.  Asopa has been building a steady fan base in North America as well as maintains a loyal following around the world.  Asopa’s most recent film, The Depth of Pyaar, has been one of his most critically acclaimed films yet with 50 awards and more than 40 other nominations.  Pyaar is a Hindi word that means “love,” and this story reflects many avenues of love while still encapsulating Asopa’s unique twists of suspense and drama. It stars Mukesh Asopa, Akshay Asopa, and Jasmine Sawant and tells a story about two vastly different brothers, one a charismatic young lawyer and one a social recluse.  The plot then proceeds to enthrall audiences with suspense as a sociopathic criminal targets these brothers and their loved ones forcing them to make judgments about how far they will go for the people they love.   The Depth of Pyaar is currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

After completing his university degree and post-graduate program in Business Management, Asopa moved to Canada when he was 24.  He made his film debut in 2006 appearing in films such as No Place to Hide, Karim, and Bollydouble.  He also played Officer Rod in the television series Pastor Greg in 2007 and played the character of Shani on the television series Ghostly Encounters, which is currently on IMDb.  After playing the part of Pascal in Reel Zombies in 2008, Asopa started his own film production company called Asopa Films Inc.  Through his film experience, business know-how, and driving motivation, Asopa set out as an independent film maker arranging the needed finances and working with many collaborators. Asopa continued to work with such vigorous energy in developing scripts and working in various capacities both in front of and behind the camera.  Asopa has successfully juggled many responsibilities and tackled challenges allowing him to imprint his unique and personal stamp on each of his films.  His first produced film, Aisha and Rahul, was released in 2009 and was positively regarded at many film festivals.  Later in 2009, Asopa released the film A Taste of Relation, which won several awards including the Best Director under Feature Film Category from the Directors Awards in Jakarta, Indonesia.
