Miracle. A word only heard in fictional stories and dramas can sometimes be true in real life too. Although very rare, miracles do happen with people who believe in them. The world has come a long way since its inception. The mindset of the people has changed drastically as compared to the olden times. They now think more practically and prefer living in reality rather than believing in something that is untrue or unreal.

It cannot be said that miracles only belong to fairytales and movies because if looked closely, miracles happen every day. For example, the news of triplets to an expecting couple or being selected for a university when the chances are slim, people’s lives are filled with small miracles happening every day. It just requires an eye to see and realize and a heart with a believing spirit. Similar is the story of a Chinese-American super model Zhaoyang Wang. She had never dreamt or even thought about having a career in the modeling industry, but fate had planned something else for her.

Belonging to a wealthy family Zhaoyang Wang also known as Amber Wang, had no plans to join the modeling industry. Her family had a reputable status in the Chinese society as her grandfather was among the first groups of Chinese pilots, and her mother, Hongqin Wei, was the vice president for a business club in Nanyang. She was inclined towards business and sports from an early age. Zhaoyang involved herself in various sports and extracurricular activities at school and participated in the Women Basketball Competition on the city level when she was 14.

Zhaoyang Wang moved to the United States in 2015, went to the Calvary chapel Christian school, and then moved to Penn State University to complete her graduation. As she was closely knit to her roots and missed being away from them, she returned back to China. Here she began working at Warrior Education, an English training agency, as a trainer. As she had a business-oriented mindset, she excelled at the academy. Her work was much appreciated by people. She was soon offered the position of CEO as a professional Wang was content with her achievements in her career and was slowly progressing towards the ladder of success. But this was not where she was destined to be.

It is said that miracles happen when one least expects them, and the same happened with Zhaoyang Wang. She was spotted and approached by Wilhelmina Models, a renowned modeling agency. They offered her to shoot for a sports campaign shot by James Farrell. Zhaoyang was a believer in fate and its decision, she felt as if she should accept the offer, and so she did. This was how she debuted in the fashion industry, and the rest is all history.

Making the Most of the Opportunity

The fashion industry is known to have the fiercest competition. Unlike other industries, fashion is global, which means one has to compete with people from all around the world. Entering the world of glitz and glamour and making it to the leading spots is no joke. People spend their entire lives trying to establish themselves but fail to do so. Zhaoyang’s entry into the industry and her career trajectory since then has been no less than a miracle. After gaining experience by working and collaborating with different fashi0n professionals, she participated in Elite Model Competition in 2018. Even though she did not win the beauty pageant, her looks and dedication were praised.

She has been featured in popular Chinese magazines such as China L’offical and China Fashion Cosmopolitan. Being a fresh face in the modeling industry, Zhaoyang bagged decent projects with top-notch brands, photographers, and designers. She has featured in almost 30 magazines, including Vanity Teen and Flanelle. This young talent is not only known for her beauty but also because of her knowledge regarding the field and her professional work ethic. Zhaoyang completed her internship at the New York Fashion Week in 2019 and learned a great deal from there. She was then offered to feature on Edge Fashion China and was then signed by Tencent.

Today, Zhaoyang is a renowned face in the fashion industry. Her work has been recognized internationally as she has modeled for some big names in the industry. She is the ambassador for Wear Wardrobe, a clothing version of Airbnb. She modeled for GHHAUS NYFW 2020 and became the first Chinese cover model for Pump Magazine in the same year. Having achieved so much in so little time says a lot about her potential. She is residing in China and is being managed by a Beijing-based talent agency, Shudaixiong Media, and is shooting for the film ‘Model Wanted’ by ITCL Film.
