Without question, the start of 2021 is going to be busy, and entirely different from the starts of many years.  Since 2020 brought so many unpredictable changes, those in digital marketing are looking for safe and accessible ways that they are going to be able to start out in the new year on the right foot. Digital creator, Nehal Khan, is here to help.

Top 2021 marketing tips

Here are some of the best tips to help engage with modern markets, vetted and elaborated on by an experienced digital marketing pro who’s seen it all.

  • Focus on voice search: More and more people are going audio when it comes to researching and engaging with online content.  When designing your website, as well as the beloved metadata and keywords, focus on the idea that people will be searching visually and through audio versus writing.
  • Start marketing for virtual options: Since 2020 brought COVID to us, everything has gone virtual.  What marketers are learning is that customers love virtual.  When designing your marketing for the new year, focus on that as a permanent fixture wherever possible.  It will earn you a lot of respect as well as business to the customer that really wants to enjoy keeping everything online as much as possible.
  • Finetune your social media connections: Since people are learning more about how the world works, they’re expecting a lot more from a company’s social media connections.  Who you follow or engage with on social media, as a company, is going to determine whether a customer appreciates you.  So, go through your list and finetune who you engage with so that your customers are getting the right approach.
  • Be honest and transparent about green living: On that same note, most customers want to know what you’re doing as an entrepreneur or company, to counteract waste or non-eco-friendly practices.  Whenever you have something that can work with that wheelhouse, be transparent and honest about it.  It doesn’t mean you need to change everything in your company, necessarily, but be upfront about what you are doing to help combat it.  It is a huge part of your digital marketing profile, too!
  • Prioritize that search engine snippet: You’ve got to get customers interested in what you can do.  People are used to the idea of having a no-click scan at the search engine for a quick solution to where they want to go.  The data that you share as the search engine snipper is going to determine whether they spend your click on you, or they go with someone else’s metadata that is better focused on what they’re looking for.  Don’t be afraid to answer the question directly, it’ll earn you their click anyway!

While 2020 didn’t go anyone’s way as far as digital marketing and the trends that it brings forward, you will be able to help 2021 get off to a much better start with the right techniques and changes to help you engage with a thoroughly modern audience on the hunt.
