Features and Designs of Biker Bracelets You Must Know About

If you’re into biker fashion, you must be in the market for jewelry labeled as ’biker’. While biker rings and necklaces are basking in love and admiration, the pieces of jewelry that are often overlooked are bracelets. Meanwhile, they have the potential to draw attention to your persona in spades. If you’re interested in this attention, let’s take a look at your option in terms of materials, symbols, and meanings inherent in biker bracelets.

No Room for Gold

Biker jewelry is down-to-earth and unfussy. It doesn’t have a glamorous or exquisite quality. Instead of dazzling radiance and extravaganza, it leans toward substance and significance. For this reason, you won’t see expensive but meaningless materials in biker jewelry such as diamonds and gold.

Speaking of gold, bikers don’t wear it not only because it is pretentious but also because it’s yellow. Motorcycles are bristling with steel and chromed detailing, so why would they put on something yellow? Their bracelets match the colors of their mean machines, therefore white metals prevail. The metal number one in jewelry for riders is silver. While its price isn’t sky-high, it carries the spirit of nobility and chivalry. A wrist piece crafted from this noble metal possesses a special meaning for its owner, and it’s often donned for special occasions only – it would be a tragedy to lose a precious bracelet while ridding.

Bracelets for everyday wear are normally made of steel, brass, and other inexpensive materials. Steel is easy to maintain, it doesn’t tarnish (unlike silver), and it is resistant to all the rigorous you can meet during a ride. Steel jewelry is normally bigger and bolder than silver and it does not shy away from fashion trends. Silver is more conservative in this aspect because it’s used for timeless pieces that you would want to pass down to future generations of bikers. What are these fashion-forward trends, you may ask? Motorcycle brands, charms, marine patterns, a fusion of traditional and technogenic materials – these are just a few examples of fresh the-in-things in biker fashion.

Besides quite traditional silver and steel, more and more biker bracelets are constructed of titanium and tungsten. Their shtick is a minimalistic design that puts the beauty of these rugged metals in the focus. On top of that, titanium and tungsten alloys are really lightweight while being incredibly durable. Both factors are vital for bikers.

Leather is All the Rage

Metal bangles and bracelets are great but not everyone likes cuffs and shackles around their wrists. Many bikers are into something that looks similarly awesome but is easier to flaunt. Well, leather pieces meet their needs to a T.

A while ago, bikers wore gears made of a wide piece of leather to ensure protection for their wrists. These pieces helped reduce fatigue and minimized the risk of damage in the event of road accidents. While looking so cool, they were not a breeze-to-wear. Over time, they got smaller and thinner till they turned into bracelets. They have zero functionality but, at least, everything is ok with their wearability and fashion potential.

Leather biker bracelets are made of cowhide and suede; exotic leathers are used less frequently. The most popular designs (some of those you can see here https://www.bikerringshop.com/collections/biker-bracelets) are leather cuffs (they look similar to a wide dog collar) and weaved cords. The former are often accessorized with studs, rings, grommets, and chains while the latter may bear charms and various metal detailing. Black is a traditional color for leather accessories but weaved bracelets let you experiment with your style and introduce a pop of red, burgundy, green, blue, gray, etc. into your look.

A Dash of Glint? Why Not?

Biker bracelets have little in common with bracelets flashing Swarovski crystals. Nevertheless, they don’t say a firm ‘no’ to stone ornamentation. Just instead of expensive or glamorous stones, they carry semi-precious or non-precious gems. A bold skull on a biker bracelet may feature clear stones (cubic zirconia or topaz), fiery garnets, vibrant emeralds, quirky opals, or eye-catching turquoise. Oftentimes, these stones are embedded into skull eyes, eye patches, teeth, or Mohawks.

Some of these stones are facet-free, especially if they boast an interesting texture or pattern. They are rounded and polished to become cabochons. Their muted sheen aligns with biker’s masculinity and boldness. The most popular cabochons are opals, moonstones, ambers, and cat’s eyes.

Beaded bracelets showcase these stones in all their glory. In fact, beaded bracelets are all the rage despite flamboyantness atypical for biker fashion. If the idea of a beaded bracelet tickles your fancy but you don’t like vibrant colors, black onyx models will fit the bill ideally. And if you don’t really like precious stones, you can try models assembled from wooden beads, although they are the least durable items in the assortment of biker bracelets.
