Drug addiction remains a menace in every society. It is a real problem that people see but ignore; this is due primarily to the misconceptions around the individuals struggling with addiction. Some of these misconceptions include that addicts lack moral principles and become addicted by free will. But one thing people have failed to consider or admit to is that drug addiction is a real medical problem, and it takes more than just strong will to overcome it. When it comes to addiction, the struggles faced by addicts, Brandon Chastang is no stranger. Having been an addict at some point in his life, he now uses his platform to raise awareness about the reality faced by people who suffer from addiction.

Brandon, nicknamed BMCFLY, also stands as an acronym for “Being Motivated Comes From Loving Yourself.” He is a motivational speaker, sober messenger, an activist who brings to fore the struggles of the people living with addiction, and a podcast host. Brandon believes that drug addiction is a dark hole that many have and will fall into, and for many, it is impossible to get out of this hole without proper guidance and support. Brandon believes he is here to bridge the gap between addicts and their addiction. Brandon created the acronym BMCFLY on April 17, 2020, in honor of his late mother, who passed on April 17, 2015. BMCFLY is a registered LLC established to help people cope with mental health illnesses, drug addiction, absent fathers, education, and gun violence prevention.

BMCFLY, a company born out of Brandon’s nickname, is unique in every sense because Brandon is known to reenact real-life scenarios through skits to create and spread awareness. Brandon has successfully reached so many people looking to escape addiction with over 20 million views already on his social media pages for just 15 one-minute skits with no idea of where to start. It is common knowledge that the first step is usually the hardest; BMCFLY’s videos and skits represent that difficult first step that everyone battling with addiction must see to begin their long walk towards recovery and sobriety.

BMCFLY targets everybody, as long as they feel the need to get rid of bad habits and addiction. But the extra focus is on those living in inner cities. Brandon believes his life experiences and transparency on social media and being the top motivator globally, and sober messenger is what separates him from his competition.

Asked what his motivations were, he said, “My mother, father, and I were drug addicts, so I said I have to break the generational curse.” Creating moves and owning a drug rehabilitation center is Brandon’s target for BMCFLY for the next five years.

From a drug addict, criminal, deadbeat father to a man with strong ideals, strength, and a desire to pull people out of the mess they found themselves in and discover their inner diamonds, Brandon Chastang is touching the lives of everyone he meets and leaving a positive legacy in his wake.
