Becoming a flying trapeze performer is not a feat for the faint of heart. It’s one that requires years and years of discipline, hard work, and passion for the art of performing some of the entertainment industry’s most risky and awe-inspiring artforms.

When one meets the Cirque Du Soleil performer and trapeze artist, Renato Fernandes, it’s evident right away that he has the perseverance and passion it takes to take risks in life. But the risks he has ventured into go beyond just the high flying acts. The performer is moving into uncharted territory and exploring the wonders and adventures of being a businessman.

Renato is no stranger to hard work and success. His entry into Cirque Du Soleil-La Nouba makes him one of the best flying trapeze performers the world has ever seen. And for him to achieve the level he has reached at the age of only 29 adds to the wonder that is Renato. He first started performing at the age of 4. A member of six generations of flying trapeze performers, Renato stands on the shoulders of giants. With the undying support of family, Renato continues to make history through his performances.

In February 2016, Renato performed the impossible—a double twisting double and a half on the flying trapeze, a move that is both life-threatening and elegant. He spends most of his performances suspended thirty-five feet from the ground. Renato faces dangers regularly and knows no fear.

Today, the fearless performer takes another leap of faith and dedicates his time and energy to his newest entrepreneurial venture: Twins Burgers. This new business venture came as a response to the COVID-19 crisis after restrictions canceled all public gatherings and events, leaving Renato with a lot of free time to pursue his lifelong dream of building a specialty burger brand.

Just like his flying trapeze career, Renato’s burgers come from his family’s ingenuity. “I have always loved burgers and different kinds and different flavors,” shares the trapeze wonder. “My mom is a great cook who owned a small Brazilian restaurant in Orlando. She taught me everything, and I fell in love with the food business.”

While Twins Burgers is not Renato’s only business venture, it is the first that he is building from scratch. Everything about the business is fresh and unique. The primary Twins Burger is handmade with love, passion, and care. The patties are made from Brazilian cut meat, also known as Picanha cuts, and make use of the freshest of ingredients. Twins Burgers’ best seller is called the X-Extravaganza, a burger created out of six different kinds of meat, including chicken, beef, sausage, pork, bacon, and shrimp for a gastronomic experience unlike any other.

With lockdowns and restrictions, Renato’s most significant focus for Twins Burgers is booking catering, party, and event packages. All the while, the businessman is building up capital to acquire a food truck that will bring Twins Burgers to different parts in the Las Vegas area and a permanent physical location.

Renato is most inspired by his two daughters, as he dedicates his work and life to giving them the best life. He hopes that with his new venture, he can spend more time with his family. Renato is dreaming big as he looks to create multiple Twins Burgers chains all over the state and even the nation in the years to come.
