From coming up with the beats, mixing and mastering the track, recording, publishing, and marketing the final results, the next rising hip-hop artist Geez Da Gawd does it all at his Prominence Recording Studio.

Geez Da Gawd is an upcoming independent artist flaunting a unique sound and music style like no other. He was born on the West side of Baltimore and raised in Detroit. He started making music about five years ago, and he started to be in the limelight in 2018 with his hit single “Little Brother.” Today, the hip-hop singer, songwriter, and sound engineer runs his Maryland-based recording studio, Prominence Records.

At present, he has a rising social media presence gaining more than 208,000 views on Youtube and 11,600 followers on Instagram. His music has been featured on several radio stations, such as 93.9 WKYS DC and 92Q Jams Baltimore. Geez Da Gawd takes in being truly self-made. The singer-songwriter proudly points out that his music is entirely self-produced through Prominence Records.

“I wanted something I could call my own. Originality and authenticity goes a long way and I have had my own way of doing things,” says the 28-year-old rapper. Geez Da Gawd points out that his mission was to create something different. At present, the content of the music he makes revolved around his real experiences in life. With that said, he only produces raw and uncut tracks that will truly take the listeners to a wild ride.

For his much-needed motivation and inspiration, Geez Da Gawd loves to listen to brilliant hip-hop legends such as Big Sean, Lil Drik, Young Thug, Icewear Vezzo, G Herbo, Rio Da Yung OG, Veeze, Tee Grizzly, PartyNextDoor, Future, and more. Admittedly, he has gone through moments where all he wanted to do was give up on his dreams in the music industry. What kept him pushing is the support he receives from his listeners. In one situation, his listener shared how his music played a big part in helping him survive difficult times. This changed the way the rising rap artist viewed things. He highlights how he realized that he has a greater responsibility to “carry people through their moments” as an artist.

For Geez Da Gawd, his biggest challenge yet is achieving a breakthrough in the rap industry, getting recognition, and truly standing out from the rest. He points out that it takes a whole lot to “break out the underground.” But this does not slow him down. “When they sing every word to you on stage, the energy hits differently. That’s what I do it for,” he expresses as he answered what he loved about being an artist. This rewarding feeling motivates him to do more. Knowing that he has the potential, skills, and talent, he continues to create music that is pleasantly different from the ears.

Geez Da Gawd hopes to be one of the most successful independent artists in America in the future. “I see myself having a larger imprint and a full roster of artists under me.”
