Coming out of poverty and rising to prominence is a feat not many can accomplish. But for people like Will Conceicao, they can look back at what they once were and take pride in their journey from hardship to success.

To say that Will’s journey has been hard would be an understatement. The levels he had to go through to get where he is today make him extraordinary. Coming from the slums of Brazil, the author and coach has beaten all odds life has thrown at him and overcome to become one of the most sought after writers, finance experts and consultants in the field.

Will is a speaker, trainer, and author. He has finished two help books, “You Are The Success You Are Looking For” and “The Skills Of The Champion”. The latter, in partnership with Fabio Cordella, a multimillionaire entrepreneur and sports director, has received recommendations and praise from many professional athletes. Some of them include Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Fabrizio Miccoli, Vicente Candela, Wesley Sneijder, Ivan Zamorano, and Olympic heavyweight boxer Clement Russo. Will has achieved a lot for himself, but none of it came easy.

Conceicao was born to an impoverished family in São Paulo, Brazil. A product of the slums, his way of life was difficult throughout his childhood. Growing up, his parents would feed him scraps from garbage cans and overripe fruit they could pick up from the market. Will’s parents were uneducated, so he had to do his part and help earn income for the family to survive as soon as he could. He worked many odd jobs as a youth, taking on responsibilities as a cardboard picker, a maintenance boy for tombs at the cemetery on All Souls’ Day, a train and street vendor. On some days, he would help ladies with their grocery bags at the open markets, washed cars, and other small errands to make some extra cash.

All of this, he did so he could raise money and help support his family. This season in his life is what taught him to be diligent and to work hard at what he did. The Brazilian chose to persevere through it all and slowly gain skills and mindsets to prepare him for what was to come next.

When Conceicao turned twenty, he decided he was going to learn English. Local public schools didn’t offer much, so Will proceeded to teach himself English. When he grew up, he took an offer to become a missionary to the United States through the Seventh Day Adventist Church. After serving the ministry for five years, he decided that he was going to stay in the US to finish his studies there.

Will went on to finish a degree in Organizational Management at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. He proceeded to further his education by taking some classes for an MBA program at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.

Today, Will is a writer, mentor, life coach, and financial consultant for corporations and professionals in the field of sports and business. He is also the CEO and founder of the “Why I Love Learning” mentoring program. Will now has an undying passion for helping others overcome great hardships and build a better life for themselves.
