Maurice Ravennah is Leading the Business Industry with His Cause-based Companies

Today’s socially conscious world has given birth to more and more socially responsible businesses of all sizes. Brands are continually speaking up and taking a public stand on a wide range of issues, from upholding human rights to preserving the environment. But while some of these companies are tweeting and posting their support on Instagram solely as a form of performative action, there are those who were started, in the first place, to drive social change and not just react to it.

Maurice D. Ravennah can be credited for developing two cause-based initiatives that not only impacted a lot of lives but also landed him in Business Elite’s Top 40 CEOs under 40 in 2019.

Maurice came from humble beginnings rife with life lessons that fueled the goal-oriented visionary man that he is today. Born in Queens, New York, Maurice came face to face with life’s various trials and adversities, and he grew up with an awareness of how difficult life could be.

He found himself in other fields before his life path led himself to where he is now. After his education at Morehouse, where he took International Relations and at Southern Wesleyan University where he took up Business Management, Maurice went on to work for years as a US Naval Midshipman. He also gained experience working as a subway franchise manager and acquired valuable insights about people and the government when he worked at the US Treasury for six and a half years.

After his government service stint, Maurice soon learned that at his core, he was a solutions engineer. And solutions, he then set forth to provide.

Recognizing how at risk the youth in the foster system are, Maurice created Phoenix International, Inc., a social service firm dedicated to housing, educating, inspiring, and uplifting the foster youth who were aging out of care. Foster youth all over the country are vulnerable to homelessness, crimes, and incarceration because of the lack of social, economic, and personal support. Phoenix International’s Independent Living Program is designed to counter this vulnerability, providing essential life skills and support resources to help the youth achieve success on their terms.

Maurice went on to start Griffin Global Incorporated, which is a full-service consulting firm aimed to provide tools necessary for personal and business success. One of these tools is the U-Do mobile app set to launch this year, and it will facilitate the breaking of barriers of entry for upcoming entrepreneurs by serving as a global marketplace.

Maurice set out to provide solutions to some of the pressing social issues he has seen. It is a pleasant surprise that while he is producing ripples of change in the lives of those he has touched through his work, he also gained the attention of business authorities. His work building Phoenix International and Griffin Global led him to leave a significant mark in the industry with Business Elite picking him from thousands of CEOs in the USA. One of 2019’s Top 40 CEO under 40, Maurice has exceptionally demonstrated both service and excellence in the companies he has founded.

But he is not stopping there. Aside from preparing for the upcoming launch of U-Do and leading two companies, Maurice also remains an active volunteer for organizations such as Just Stop Killing Us. It is evident that Maurice will continue to lend a hand in dismantling social set-ups that put people at a disadvantage.
