YouTube is an incredible platform used by billions of people every single month to watch videos, be entertained, and learn new things. YouTube is the second biggest search engine in the world. While some people watch YouTube videos, others have been able to leverage the platform and have success on it.

Matt Par is a 19 year old entrepreneur who runs 9 different YouTube channels. He has a channel with over 1 million subscribers and multiple other channels with over 100,00 subscribers earning both the gold play button from YouTube and several silver play buttons respectively. Let’s take a look at some of his top strategies for YouTube success:

1 – Choosing a Niche

Matt says that choosing a specific niche is an essential key to YouTube success. “You want to choose as specific a niche as possible when starting out and most people fail at this,” he says.

Par believes that channels with great success on YouTube are the ones that upload a single type of content consistently and don’t waver from that niche. He says that ““You cannot upload a basketball video at one point and then upload a video with a different content the next day”.

2 – Getting Traffic

When you think of getting traffic on YouTube, you probably think people who get millions of views are just lucky. Matt Par says this couldn’t be further from the truth. Matt implements a process he refers to as similar metadata on every single channel he runs.

“This means putting a similar set of tags, a similar description, and even similar titles on every single video you upload on a channel” he says. Par claims that the more similar the better for the YouTube algorithm since your own videos will appear in the suggest results of other videos you uploaded.

3 – Analyzing and Optimizing

The third technique is to analyze and optimize based on your analytics. Matt coined a rule he refers to as the 33 rule. “The 33 rule essentially states that you can typically tell if a YouTube channel will be successful within the first 33 videos you upload,” he says. And Par says that if it’s not successful, then you can analyze your analytics to determine what’s working, what’s not working, and then finally double down on what’s working.

YouTube as a platform is only going to grow and the time to start on YouTube is now. There’s so many different niches out there and so many ways to monetize channels that it’s a no brainer for any person or company that has ever considered it. You don’t even have to show your face on YouTube to be successful and Matt Par has proved this. Matt doesn’t even show his face on eight of the nine YouTube channels he runs, proving that this could potentially be a viable opportunity for anyone.
