Working from home is not easy but a challenge especially when one is surrounded by kid(s). Dividing the time and planning the day becomes a complex task for a couple. The children have nowhere to go. The home is now a school and a playground and keeping them engaged the whole day while keeping the work going, needs ideas.

Children are not adults. They do not understand the technicalities. There may be the need to explain the situation t them daily. Some of them might understand and comply but never take anything for granted with children and do not shout at them in this sensitive situation. Talk to them and appreciate them for understanding.

At all costs, have a routine at home for everyone. When you are working give the children school or study assignments. You can use this like play time. Set up the home as office and stage the whole thing. Give them and yourself assignments to complete in stipulated time. They will love this game like routines and you can complete your office work too.

This is the time when you can teach your kids life lessons. They will develop critical life skills, love towards family, more sense of belonging and living united. Use the opportunity to do chores with them. This will teach them gender neutral responsibilities of housework. Keep the nap times fixed and have separate time table for gadget involving games.
