Almost 20,000 patients are to be given subsidized medicinal cannabis in the UK as a part of first major trial to see the effects of the drug. Though medicinal cannabis is legal in Britain since last November, patients are finding difficulty to access it.

Medicines derived from the drug are not available on the health services hence the Project 21 will be launched in the UK to see the drug impact on 20,000 patients. The patients will be tested on seven health conditions including chronic pain, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, post-traumatic stress disorder, Tourette’s anxiety, and drug addiction.
